+1 great attention to detail! there can't be too many of these left in good nic
had a 126 as an everyday driver years ago, it was great fun, even with the gearstick trying to occupy the space where my knee needed to be.. (though it really needed a bit more power & better brakes) on severe cornering the rear-end would suddenly swop-ends when you least expected it - just like a miniature Porsche!

mt796 - As requested here is an update for you. bmwv8capri - Thanks pal, I always appreciate recognition to my attention to detail. I hear you about the gearstick, I'm 6'4" so I'm guessing you're also tall? Not had a chance to drive this on the road yet but I'll certainly heed your warning! So time for an update on the little BIS. The dust sheets were removed and he was wheeled out from the corner to do some work on him. First up, I fitted my newly trimmed door cards to the passenger door. You may remember I had the interior retrimmed. I really liked the original material but it was clearly cheap and not made to last. I hope my choice will stand the test of time. Door card fitted. Also here is a little comparison next to the seat to show you the match. Next up it was time to get the welder out. You may remember I had the matching rot in both sides of the outer sill. It's obviously a common place for these to go as both sides had already been badly plated. So I made a couple of plates up from some sheet to fill both sides. I then shaped it in to position to make sure it fitted well with a joggled top edge. My welds aren't brilliant as I'm a complete amateur, so I've taken a pic after it was welded and ground flat! I then got the filler out! I then flatted down the filler, it was always going to go back to textured stone chip so I didn't go too detailed on the sanding. Just got it smooth and levelled out. Next up I applied the white stone chip to the panels, to achieve the textured rough effect like the rest of the sill I dabbed it gently with a sponge to achieve the similar desired result. I was quite happy with it in the end. It does need another dust over with the stone chip once it's dried just to get rid of the dark parts. It takes a few hours to dry so he was pushed back in to the corner to dry. As usual though. Thanks for looking and all comments welcomed and appreciated.

br00klyn99 - Thank you buddy, comments like that well appreciated. Time for an update again on the BIS. I finished off the repairs on both the sills. I'm quite happy with the end result, to try and achieve the OEM underseal look I let the stonechip dry till tacky, then dabbed it with a sponge. Now cast your memory back to the early part of this thread, to a job I've been putting off for some reason. The chips in the top of the door. To begin I rubbed the area down. After a good coating of filler primer, I then applied several thin coats of Fiat Blanco Corfu to build up the colour. Once cured and happy with the end result I gave a few coats of lacquer and removed the masking tape. I also fitted the drivers side door card and furniture. Really happy with how it turned out in the end, not much left to do on the little BIS. Thanks for looking.
