God, in this country, anything is possible. I would not be surprised in the slightest if it had to be certified as a "Modified vehicle", cos you have chopped a real car in half..... I would love to know just how wrong I am on this one, cos I could use this idea!!!!!

I LOVE IT!!!!! I wonder what would be required to certify that.........cpgrubb? It's a trailer, assume no cert required? England is about the only place we can just about get away with doing that, legally speaking I'm pretty sure all new trailer builds for the last few years have had to go through some legal stuff fwhich is why everybody always starts with an old chassis to avoid it, even if it does end up a bit like Triggers broom... Edit found the info www.armitagetrailers.com/trailerlaw.htm

But as trailers in the UK are not registered in any way, so how on earth do they have any idea when it was built? seems pretty much unenforceable to me.

Wouldn't be hard to make your own should you find yours was missing from your trailer and could save confusion. Anyway sorry to Grogster for the thread Hijack - back to cool old cars in NZ - don't expect you have a Charger lurking about the place needing an overseas trip?

Trailers just need you to walk into vtnz and pay the $40 or so and they give you a number plate. Then all you need is to get a WoF and it's done. Trailer woofs are easy too so it could even be an old kitchen door with an axel theoretically.

No worries - all very interesting info. If you mean a Dodge Charger, then no, but there are a few General Lee's floating around the place here, but '69 Chargers are rather heckpensive over here. @ cpgrubb - Thanks for that. That is encouraging. Might just find a use for one of those arseends yet.
