After many many years of collection up parts from just about everywhere! I really need to have a huge clear out as a new building will be going up soon... I will post up some pictures soon to show the extent of what there is ... Heaps of new old stock parts that fill 2 garages and one double garage filled to the actual roofs!! ...i have been talking to my family about this and we have all agreed that it is a good idea its just organising the whole thing is our problem. Maybe let it take place over 2 days?
I'm thinking either
1. Lay the whole lot out and Grab as much as you can !
2. sell it in lots of say 50 to 100 items per lot
Any ideas would be really appreciated

I think categorising as much as possible (make+model) and having prices based on the parts would be more beneficial, and whatever you don't sell put on ebay considering its free to list!

As above, I'd say put it all into makes and models and people can look straight for what they need and you could get a faster turn around
PS: where are you based and do you have any mk3 zephyr bits 😉

Anything for VW Beetle/Camper, Rover P6, Morris Minor, Mazda MX5, Volvo 240/340/740, MG Midget?
In terms of selling the lot, you could either post details/photos of the bits on here, or try to sell as a job lot to a trader. Probably more money in selling bits separately, but more work too...

If it's purely a quick clearance a trader would be the easiest method, they would take the time to find out what everything is and make a healthy profit.
What you need is computer literate teenager, looking to make some pocket money. We have a client who's son made a fortune clearing a storeroom of old stock that was going to be skipped. They split the cash 50/50.
Wheres DrSebWilkes located,...?

Ford part numbers are probably the easyest to find on the web as there is online versions of microcat (the ford parts program), i do stock clearances all the time and as you say time is the issue, i'm still going through parts i got from a spares warehouse clearance i did 5 years ago mind you there was ni on a thousand parts, the other side is some parts just don't sell, there is allways the fast sellers but i also have new bagged parts from a ford dealership i cleared 12 year ago!! As with the others i'd be interested if you wanted to clear large lots of parts, been doing it for years and i'd say it breaks down as 5% getting the part, 15% reserch and 80% it sitting on ebay, some items i've had on there for 3 years, constantly relisted and all for £2 profit when it finaly sells ! also beware of postage, the amount of times i've listed an iten and when it finaly sells the postage has gone up and i actually loose money is not funny ! especialy with low price items, the PO are allways changing the goal posts, last week i sold a manual i listed 2 years ago, postage back then was around a fiver, now £13 frikken quid cos they changed from a graduated weight price scale to a 2kg cut off for small parcles !!! rwally lost me ass on that one

Anything Toyota TA22 or MGB GT in your collection? Am not too far away from East Sussex (in fact I'm a regular weekend visitor ) so happy to pop down and assist if you need a hand one weekend. Ideal would be one person sorting, one on a laptop identifying part and the either arranging with other related parts of simply taking pics and listing for sale

Id split it down into obvious groups, so organise it by manufacturer and then split into basic types like, small baged, wheel trims, exhausts etc. Put to one side anything that you know is rare/unusual/expensive. Then id sell in bundles to other traders.
Id love to come over and for bedford stuff but your too far.

Do you have any space? Room to organise it? Is this outbuildings on a farm? (Long shot).
I'm sure I'm not the only one who would consider it a fun day/weekend out to go through some of that even with no intention of getting anything out of it. everyone loves a good rummage right?
I'm thinking retro riders 'beer n barbecue' parts sorting weekender.
Get 20-30 people on it and chuck it all about untill the piles make sense.
Sounds like a laugh to me.
