Hello everyone! I've been sick busy with the 1968F100 Coyote Swap and it's done, new video will be out on that thread very soon. It's NUTS.
Anyway- Let me tell you a story:
My good buddy (that owns "Old Blue" the '68 pickup truck) Had an uncle recently pass away from Prostrate cancer, out of nowhere. Around 50yrs old. He was fine, then he was gone in a very short time. Great guy, the loss was a bad deal all around. Right before he passed- He gave this car to my friend. He told him "I've had it twenty years, I know you'll do something cool with it". My friend told me that he said he would try to get it done so we could take him for a ride in it- then he was gone.
They took him to his final resting place in the back of a lifted big block Chevy 4x4, rather than a bleary, teary eyed hearse. His son spoke and it was moving. Most of us have been there, we know it is not a fun time.
BUT- I'm not here to bring us all down.
This is an opportunity to do something cool. Something his family will remember, something fun and if he were here, he'd approve of all this $hit. The guy would do a burnout in a church parking lot if he was in the right car. Super fun and this build needs to be fun too.
We had a great running AWD Hemi Donor Durango just sitting around. This 2 door Chevy Deluxe coupe from 1940 is only 3" off the wheelbase of the Durango. You all know I can get this one done, right? It looks SICK amazing, with all the glass intact- the trim or "brightwork" is all there, this is a good one. The vision I have for the thing, is going to reveal itself as it unfolds. I see this insane lowered thing with big wheels and pipes protruding.. But we'll let it talk to us, as we move ahead.
We can all be a part of this tribute build.
I'm asking for suggestions for a build title- What do we call this thing? We can't just call it "Hemi #5" because that's boring. Calling it "The 1940 Coupe" is also dull. I'm looking for something that will get You tubers to click on it. Something that sounds wicked, mean, nasty and fun. I'm wide open here, let's do the man proud and come up with the right build name yeah?
HAVE A LOOK AT THE THING:

Sorta reminds me of the Hudson Hornet in the first Cars movie (I know it's a different car) but that was my first thought.
As for names, something like the 40's/50's futurisms applied to concept cars perhaps?
Futurama is obviously taken, but that sort of idea.

what a really sad back story but unfortunately one I'm sure that we can all relate to! my instant reaction on a name was "Crusty's Revenge".

I think old rusty/crusty etc has been well played on by now.
crustys revenge though, sounds like a Simpsons episode..
BlaspHemi has been done by Mike Finnegan of Roadkill.

Personally, I'd have that up in the air, on steels and skinny AT tyres, and try and make it look like a factory 40s build.
Whatever, that's me, I know the car's in safe hands and the end result will be awesome. Bookmarked. 😉

If it was a Business Coupe you could "give it the business" somehow:
Hemi #5 made me think of this:
Play on the Chevy/Dodge mix with "Mudblood coupe"? Or something similar to "BlaspHemi" off of herecy/heretic/heretical?
If there's a color and/or theme already selected, it could certainly have a bearing on the name...

Uncle Buddy's Chevrango Coupe. Or insert uncle's name if it's cooler.

Splice the Durango and Deluxe badges together to make the DERANGE-O.

I'm no historian, but maybe that's the type of car they'd have used to run moonshine years ago. Speed and 4wd SHINANGO or Shine-ango. As they say on Aus tv, "the most heavily anticipated" thread of the year so far. Love your work.
