Thanks! And that's right, there's no market for the second hand body panels. One of the YouTube subscribers just asked me that same thing. We've tried to sell them before and you end up with a half stripped out shell of a car parked up as an eyesore while cheap vultures pick over the carcass. I'd rather not look at it, to be honest. They end up netting a couple hundred quid but it's just not worth it.. I'd rather see the thing gone. Plus- then I don't have to waste hours via text with conversations such as; "How much for the---" and "No, that's too much, how about --- for all the" And then they want you to remove the parts for them or borrow your tools.. yeah- I like it when they are suddenly gone. Oh- and yes, that old car was awful inside! BLEH!

Really looking forward to this one. Is it any worse than you thought now the body is off?

It's only worse than I thought because of the measurements. Today I'm going to see the scope of the work for making it actually fit. It's far more narrow than I originally thought. The rear wheel arches contain the cab structure and the trunk. All of the stuff is in the way of the rear wheels. They'll be some serious chopping going on out there today. I'll post pics at the end of the day, 10 12 hrs from now, it's 10:25 am stay tuned

The grill/bumper guards are nice little extra. As far as I'm aware, they're supposed to protect your grille and lights to some degree from damage. Not sure how effective they are in reality. They're a nice little extra piece on the car at any rate.
Be interesting seeing how you line the Sedan body up with the Durango chassis, the newer wheel base looks longer and wider in the pictures and video. It also looks like the front axle sits further back in relation to the bulkhead/firewall on the Durango than it does in the Sedan and I wonder how that's going to affect where the wheels sit in the arches if you're not wanting the engine to intrude on the cabin of the Sedan.

I found myself thinking...."holy curse word that thing is all wheel drive, that thing is all wheel drive!"
apart from the rugged 4x4 aspect of the car, it would be the hottest handling retro mod around !
way cool

I see that the truck firewall is ahead of the car firewall. Since the pedals are fixed to the truck firewall, this is going to move the driver up close to the chevy windshield. Resolving the ergonoics is not as simple as just moving the seat back. Is there a plan?

Yes, I've extended the steering shaft and taken the pedal box and pulled it into the cabin. I might need another 3 inches, but I'm getting on with that today. I basically cut the firewall that holds the pedals & steering totally out, and pulled it inward. I might also have to add length to the brake booster lines, but eh- I got this Many hours of fab ahead. Vid coming soon.

Oh, and the Durango was a 2005. So call it Durango 2005 My thinking straight away from the name was the Durango 95 from A Clockwork Orange. Or call it "real horrorshow" " The Durango '95 purred away a real horrowshow - a nice, warm vibraty feeling all through your guttiwuts. And soon it was trees and dark, my brothers, with real country dark." Durango 2005 would look cool if you used a nice old car badge font and had it signwritten on in a chrome style. It's a tenuous idea for a name but I like it 😎
