ARGH! the random $hitroen electrical randomness continues! I swear c15's are allergic to illumination! it goes like this: a bulb pops, I change the bulb, a day or two later a different bulb pops, I change the bulb, a week later, a different bulb pops, I change the bulb, the bulb pops immedialtey, I change the bulb, yet another bulb elsewhere pops, I change the bulb, a fortnight later a different bulb pops, I leave it (only a sidelight this time, not headlight, indicator, reverse, running or brake) I run around with a side light out for ages, find a replacement bulb in the scrapyard on one of my many forays, I replace the bulb, 2 days later........ ........... a headlight bulb pops again!!!!!!!!! NOT. A. HAPPY. BUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kirsty ( )

has anyone ever modded one of these? set of wheel and lowered maybe nothing too drastic I understand that the front subframe from a 205GTI fits nicely. I know that there are a also couple of Mi16 converted ones kicking around.

I am on my second one:) I bought my first as an insurance write off - drove it round the clock twice traded it in for a brand new one off the forecourt - that was 8 years ago - still driving it and think they are value for money:) Suspension is second to none - well our roads in lincolnshire are the worse in the counrty I swear - I bomb along doing 50 - doesnt even spill my coffee<G> Motorways is cruises at 80. I carry my dogs in it - its my dogmobile - I go to trials up and down the country - it has never let me down - and is so cheap to run. Faults - If you are tall or large don't get one - cab space is tight - no storage in cab area and no power steering - no where to put a cuppa<G> Oh and we have driven on cooking oil and had problems getting any emmissions for the MOT!!! if and when I replace think I will get the berlingo - that has better cab space. A lot of condensation due to the dogs so am getting an air flettner fitted. I am just refitting mine with new cages - and need to have escape hatches in front - was thinking of using perpex like the police dog vans - anyone know where I can get this from with fittings?

what would you class as tall? I'm 6ft 1 I'm worried about the pedals being close too as prev mentioned as ive size 11 shoes and foot as wide as a kipper! lol other drawbacks are the Rac wont cover me on my standard cover ive already got,i have to pay extra and even then not covered for commercial use also ive spoke to the insurance and if i change and use my no claims bonus they will transfer my std ins to commercial no problem, but then the no claims wont be able to be re used on a normal car again if i decide to change back to a car instead of a van !
so thinking i might stick with the recently repaired polo breadvan for a bit

I'm 6ft 1, size 11 feet and find them fine to drive. They are cosy but perfectly usable.

Hi All, I'm new to the forum, despite being a bit of a lurker for a while now, so please forgive me if I make any newb errors in my first post. I recently purchased a C15 to do some light work carrying both myself and some light camera gear to and from shoots. The van is a G reg (2004) 1.9 diesel and has done just shy of 41,000 miles. The last service was done at 39,000. This thread was so useful in helping me buy the C15 as I was able to look identify flaws in the van I would never have known to look for if it hadn't been for the posts here. So, thank you. I do however have a couple of issues, which I'm hoping other R.R members might be able to help me with. 1 - window winders As another R.R user has previously mentioned in this thread, the window winders can come off, and this has happened to this van. I'm wondering if anyone fixed theirs and if so, how did you do it. I've approached a seller on Ebay (selling this item: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Racing-Style-Aluminium-Window-Winder-Crank-Handles-Citroen-GS-GSA-Visa-C15-/150947954851?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item23253300a3 ) but he doesn't seem to think that these would work for me. I still have the original winders. Here's what we're dealing with: postimg.org/image/r2av1ozv5/postimg.org/image/ajn48vcep/2 - temperature warning light The temperature warning light (that looks like this: postimg.org/image/diel1d0u1/ ) will come and go on intermittently, although it is more often on than off. I've checked the coolant and oil levels and both are fine. It's frustrating that there is no temperature gague on the dashboard, as without this it's hard to know whether the engine is actually close to or actually overheating or whether it is just a dodgy wiring/electrical problem. I have noticed though, that when I turn the engine over the front fans in the grill don't come on. Should they? Anyone else had this problem, would love to hear your thoughts on this one, as i'm a little paranoid about driving the van any real distance given that the engine could decide to overheat and die at any moment, if this is the actual issue. Many thanks for reading and your responses most welcome. James. My van: postimg.org/image/5v74don81/postimg.org/image/56y9uqoi9/postimg.org/image/iqf40g2hd/

Buy a cheap IR thermometer from ebay (other sellers are available) and get an accurate reading of the engine temperature, if you look up what temperature the thermostat opens at it will give you an idea of what the normal running temperature should be. The fans will only come on when needed.

I always see them with just the front 'clip' cut off (the bulkhead forwards) in scrap yards.

Not had a van but I did have a Visa many years ago.
I loved that car - wallowed like a ship at sea, had no power, brakes would occasionally just decide not to work BUT super comfy seats, mental dashboard, decent on fuel and loads of character

They are brilliant, put 1.9 Pug 205 GTI alloys on them and they corner like whippets. In France you can get a LWB version with 800kg load capacity side doors and retractable rear seats (my dad has one) they are not refined, but in the south of France where my parents live all the farmers swear by them. Modding potential is huge, the Visa GTI had the 205 GTI engine fitted. I had one when I was a courier in England, great economical motoring.

I use one every day had had to modify the front end a little with a mk2 golf grill and seperate headlights with clear domes as the light projection running hid is a lot better I carry 200 liters of water and then 200 liters of fluid and handles remarkably well

#wolfmobile would like to see some pics of your front end
The C15 has been my works van for the last 4 years, very reliable, very economical, amazing heater, keep telling myself to do a 6 wheel conversion on it!
