I will admit an unconscious bias away from any GM cars during my youth. I can't justify it and looking back I actually think fondly of anything with an SR, SRI, GTE or GSI badge. I guess growing up in Liverpool, with lots of Astras driving round from Ellesmere Port - perhaps I wouldn't allow myself to appreciate them. Too many lazy yet influential journalists who repeated the old rhetoric that Vauxhalls don't handle..
Anyway - thanks for this thread dudes!

I feel sick😩 LOL Every town has one of these - and an uber pimped BMW E38 - must be a 728i with chrome quad pea shooters.

Thread resurrection - I am having deep dreams about Scimitars! That wide arched one is lovely - is the owner on here?

An EPIC selection of well priced, useable, fun classics. Every one of these should be snapped up! Personal fave is the XR4i. I'll let you off the 206 because everything else is amazing!

I like this idea because it takes the current vibe of this place and moves forward, rather than trying to rejuvenate or respark something that is in decline. So a good time to do it.
The forum is still nicely active compared to most and the vast array of subjects and interests is what keeps me coming back. Honestly nothing better on the Internet to get lost in on my regular train journey!
Every one of us will always be situated in at least one of those states - dreaming, building or driving and probably thinking about one of the others!
My suggestion for the Readers Rides split, only because things move so fast:
1. Projects - ground up restos, hybrid builds and heavy engineering. 2. Rolling Restos - taxed and tested but with mods / upgrades applied as you go. 3. Dailies - happy with your lot driving around having adventures taking pretty pictures.

Wow that's in great shape. Not many cars look this good bog standard. I think the S12 design has aged really well - perhaps the slight curvature around the front and the bumpers. Brilliant car and nice colour scheme.

Great work - I like E39s. That bumper was an absolute steal! Very resourceful with your time - I often get up double early to do a quick garage job before work!

I really like the Austin 1300 and yours looks in great condition. It is however screaming to be "cafed" ! The A40 posted earlier would work. Lose the overriders, perhaps two tone wrap or black roof and some banded metro / maestro steelies. Not sure what suspension these have, but they already sit quite low, so don't need too much.

Wow - that burgundy Bonus is a honey! I would go low just on those steels for best looks - or perhaps band them. That's a rare steely isn't it? Rather than the teardrop ones I seem to remember that were on most Fezzas.

So as soon as I read the intro post I thought of Racer86's 924. I always thought it had perfect fast road stance - with wheel / tyre specs in keeping with the retro look of small dished wheels on higher profile tyres. Mine is getting there but needs the slightest bit of rear arch rolling as it rubs when pushing on fast B roads.

I had a set of 17 inch Stilauto Racing C on my Golf mk2 16v - loved them. Only got a Corrado pic here. They were a forerunner of the M3 CSL wheel. I used to like these early 90s Rimstock Rimstars All time favourite 90s wheel and possibly all time is the classic Dimma split 205. And I know some cool curse word has a set on a 405 wagon on here - genius.

Oh my lord - amazing cars! Now, I've had a go at finding out what a couple are but I'm stumped!
Absolutely love that grey coupe. Thought it was a Studebaker but not sure now...
And that creamy green Alfa ( I think!! - couldn't zoom in on the badge). That's an absolute honey and I think the rims are an all time favourite. That colour scheme would work well on a modern.

When it comes to cars my amazing dad is a douche!
I Spent my baby and toddler years on the hard shoulder thanks to a forever overheating Hillman Imp.
We progressed to the plush but often wet velour of a pooh brown Allegro 1500 HL.
Next up the perky, revvy Triumph Acclaim - my fave because it had a rev counter.
Crashing back to hell with a light blue Sunny with a vinyl roof.
I left home for good when he bought a Rover 400.
Is it any surprise I like BMWs!!!
