Personally, I think it probably is Retro. Any car whose 'styling language' differs substantially from anything available new through age is retro in my eyes. I think I might steal that, it's a very succinct way of explaining how I feel about the "is it retro?" question.

THIS WAS AN ESTATE. I added the van panels, just to clarify, it was not originally built as a van. I thought I made that clear but hey ho! 'Scuse my ignorance but why is that a big deal? Just for originality? I know a bit about Minis and I know that vans are a bit rarer than estates.

Just a thought, if it's your Dad's isn't there a way he can bring it over as a personal vehicle that he has owned in the country of origin and avoid the tax (if that's not to shamefully capitalistic of me to say)?

Don't worry, the guy blocked me from bidding because I was in the UK. I think he was worried about me being a scammer.

What about a Mercedes OM605/6? Too small? It's probably not strong enough, not really truck-y enough, to perform as well as a proper truck motor but they respond well to big turbo'ing. Plus, he'd still have to work out brakes and drivetrain aft of the gearbox.

Ive got a new issue for the list now too... air is only blowing hot, doh Check the sensor for the duovalve in the gap above the interior light/sunroof switch. The duovalve fails to hot but they're usually quite reliable (especially at the age and mileage of yours) so a sensor/switch/signal failure is more likely.

In case you can't get someone to help with the new switch, I think I've found the same switch as the old one: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131583816989Swapping like for like is always going to be easier than trying to rewire it to use another switch.

It was £250 previously. I've amended the price to £500 as of today. I think it's fairly priced. Its a good car but I just need a little more oomph Price doubled, still excellent value.

for 250 extra i would have take it if delivered Sounds like there's a deal to be done then. You appear to be offering £1250 now, which is unusual. Or are you full of hot air? I'm not toledo's lawyer but I'm happy to keep this negotioation moving so that two of my fellow members get what they want.

Why do scammers try their best to appear like.. er scammers? Who even says "shipping agent" unless you're Nigerian or an oceanographer? if i agree on a price for delivery he will receive a phone call from my importer from a uk line to confirm postcode and delivery time and date.now it's his choise.you are now wasting my time.till tomorow if no reply i'll delete post and account no problem i will find one on carandclassic.where you can speak directly to tje owner not with jelous people interfearing kevinvassallo, if you're a genuine and serious buyer and you're prepared to pay £1000 for a car (you've not seen) to be shipped somewhere then I'm sure you can cover the extra £300 to have the car picked up and delivered. Transfer the thousand quid to toledo and send your man with a van. Easy peasy.

It's a bummer that you're getting the muck about on this. Have you tried Car and Classic? I've only sold one car directly via that site, I always advertise here, on C+C, on eBay and Gumtree and only once has the buyer said that they saw it on there.
The C+C site seems to generate serious enquiries, sensible questions and no low-ball offers but none of my cars were minters or proper classics, which is why I think they didn't sell via that site.
In any case, it might be the "right" crowd to identify that this isn't a shagged W201 to get them through the winter, that it's an unusual and comparatively rare version of the baby Benz.

FOAD from these hallowed page's likes a proton, have not seen his pick-up. The pick up looked cracking in the photos I saw. His group is called RetroShite but the cars have been getting less and less wibblepoo in recent months. He had a Jumbuck too, didn't he? I think there was a thread on here about a Jumbuck and the subject of transplanting Lancer Evo hardware into one came up.

I get what people are saying about, it's for diy'ers etc. But the 'aim' of the show is to make profit, ie a business, so I get why people go on about the Labour thing, I watch it sometimes but I mainly just want to punch that orange curse word. I follow Brewer on FB and Twitter and the number of times he has to point out that labour isn't supposed to be included suggests he gets a lot of "feedback" about it. Same with the prices on Wheeler Dealers: Trading Up being in dollars, he must get loads of people criticising that because he usually tweets about it before there's an episode on TV.

The Z3 has been removed from sale but the same seller has a W124 estate, a 230TE for £850 with a long MOT. It's the car in the photo next to the Z3.
