I think the animal had LSD possibly, but they're still demanding quite a premium.
With the L200 from what I recal some of them suffered with bottom end failure. I believe this was from a faulty two piece bottom pulley. The pulley was pressed and over time they worked loose and caused a nasty vibration through the crank and in turn the big ends failed. This was revised on later models I believe with a one piece pulley.
I've always liked the Navara, but the old ones exploded and the new ones snap!

My ford ranger had electric diff locks. My imported L200 didn't, although I'm told later uk models did have diff locks.

I've not read the whole of the tread, so sorry if this is an echo here. I've recently sold my 2000 crew cab L200. It was most certainly awesome and I loved every moment of it. I used to have BFgoodrich Mud terrains but I swapped them for a set of Insta Turbo Specials or something like that. I think they were about £60 a corner. I used to do a lot of green leaning and pay and play days and it never really got stuck... Unless you went obviously out of its ledge. It pulled things out all day long, took a decent load on the back, pulled all day long and o absoloiey loved the thing. If you have any specific questions please ask away.

Unfortunately I have no idea if that chap is still about, however they seem readily available from eBay and the like.

I never realised you could retro fit mk1 panels on the mk2. Very cool idea.
I actually got looking at a VVC 1.8 metro on eBay last night. Very tempting.

I couldn't agree more Grizz. However for every one person that's reluctant to donate a few quid, there is someone else who is more than happy to, and those are the people I'd rather spend time with!
I did think it would have been hard for you not to notice the event was on, given your location.
It was a shame that the dockside meet was cancelled, however due to a select few plonkers it sort of became inevitable towards the end. I think that if a local enough venue was to begin something again it could be a roaring success if its gone about wisely.
I've often thought that a "cars and coffee" type morning meet would be a success on say a Sunday morning. Problem is finding a suitable enough venue. I've seen people arrange such meets in the surrounding areas, but it's a bit of a trot for us lot to drive to a nice country pub Surrey for a breakfast coffee.
I think the dockside meet was a success due to the facilities that were there, a good choice of half decent places to eat, grab a drink and whatever else.
Looks like a decent enough day and I'd be keen to get out there next year. At least it's local enough for me to try and push the Porsche home!

Wow. Never even realised this was a thing!
Looks very worthwhile and one I will have to keep an eye out for next year.
Thanks for sharing.

I have a friend who has a 3door with a SR20 in it. As far as I can remember it was far from a direct bolt in conversion.
B204 would be interesting.

Ah yes. Re-read it and it makes a bit more sense. Christ, no wonder so many people get different views of the same one thing.

I assume that an electric handbrake runs a solenoid which pulls a cable in a conventional manor.
Am I right in thinking that my 1967 vehicle could have a hydraulic only handbrake?

I'm more than happy to pay for a ticket, s sens worth it. I will keep an eye out for your garage number.
I had a stand pass for Supercar seige a few years ago. Pretty much brought the whole M20 to a standstill with the influx of visitors.

Greenlight. They pretty much knocked me over when I insured my R53 with them. Four times as much mileage at half the price as the next best competitor and even better, any modifications that do not result in a direct power increase are free to add to the policy.
They get a thumbs up and a recommendation from me.

I very nearly quoted someone early on in this thread... Then realised it was from 2011!

I put my car on jacks, put it in gear and held a bit of sand paper and then polishing compounds onto the wheel... Yeah, I know.
It worked though.

Thanks very much for the replies chaps. I have an auto Audi, but it's some fancy DSG flappy paddle thing which I have been very happy with. I've never had a basic auto so all of this is unknown to me. I have had a very quick read of auto boxes and their principles but a lot is still a mystery to me porsche944 Thanks very much indeed for such a comprehensive reply and some incredibly useful information there. Can a low level also cause for delay in power delivery or a slipping sensation? The car is on 108k. Thanks everyone once again.

What are your dates for brands? I'd be very interested in coming up and seeing you compete of it's an open to the public kind of event.

Hello retro rides
Once again I am in a bind and need some solid advice so please excuse the somewhat slapped together quick post here.
I am in the position of needing a cheap, spacious hack to do a few thousand miles in. The Honda CR-V has taken my fancy and for the first time ever I am looking at the lazy option of an automatic and ive found myself with questions I don't know the answers to.
The seller has told me that occasionally, very occasionally the revs increase slightly more than usual on an up shift. I have no idea if this is to be expected from an automatic, if it's natural or if it's a tell tale that the thing is going to die imminently?
What could this problem be? Is it a possibility that this problem is a sign of a catastrophic failure in the not too distant future? Does it mean something far less significant like it's due a service?
Can anyone give me any advice as to if its Roth running the risk on or steering very clear of. Just for the record this is a sub £500 minges bag that I only need 1500 miles out of. If it does more then that would be fantastic!
Thanks for any help.
