Jag straight 6 on itb's will make a nice noise, can't wait to hear that!
The Nardi doesn't look totally out of place really, maybe if it was cream it could almost look like a factory option. Almost similar to the TWR wheels fitted in the XJ40 XJR

The SLK and MGF got me thinking about another convertible which has been underrated for years; the Toyota MR2 Mk3/ MR2 Roadster/ MR-S whichever you want to call it Seen as a bit tame compared to the outgoing turbo MR2, these seem to be getting a bit of a following online now as being quite a capable little sports car, lightweight with tuning options for either turbo'ing the standard 140bhp 1ZZ engine, swapping in the 190bhp 2ZZ engine from the Corolla/Celica T Sports, or even fitting the K20 engine from Honda Civic Type R's et al. Bit difficult to get one for under £1k but they are out there, this one looks tidy www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOYOTA-MR2-1-8-VVT-I-CONVERTIBLE-MOT-HISTORY/274345283439?hash=item3fe040cf6f:g:LuAAAOSw205eoWCCAnd an example of what can be done with them courtesy of Techno Pro Spirit in Japan, regularly puching above its weight on the Gunma cycle course/Touge

A nice relaxed cruiser in it's day, but if I was looking for a 2 door sports coupe there are better options with rear wheel drive and more responsive handling. Depends what you're looking for, they're more of a luxury coupe than a sports car but they handle alright (well the second gen does, I can't speak for the first gen!). The front wheel drive doesn't really matter in this sort of car, sure you're not going to be going drifting in it, but equally you don't have to pay the premium that gets applied to most rear wheel drive coupes these days

I'm not sure where prices are for these, I realise they're uncommon, but £5K for a car in this condition looks a tad delusional? Agreed, this car came up on the Honda Legend fb group and the consensus was that it was overpriced, the first gen coupes are very rare but there isn't really much of a market for them, so maybe £2k would be more appropriate for that car The OP never responded when I messaged him about mine or others that are for sale so maybe they won't be back here in a hurry

Damn another 3 or so weeks on, about time for an update. I've been a bit distracted by other goings on, but I have also found some time to work on the Legend. I haven't taken many photos as the car has been annoying me so it's been more a case of just get on with it. Split/cotter pins arrived for the castle nuts so put those in meaning that the drivers rear side is all done. Next job was the passenger rear side, I was stuck on this side with the castle nut on the lower arm which was refusing to come undone. By the time I got it off, it looked like this Seriously hampered access meant that it took a combination of files, hacksaw and chisels to finally get it free. Of course on doing that, the ball joint splitter then didn't want to play ball The play in the splitter meant that the bolt kept wanting to run off the splitter under load, so I fashioned up a washer to take the play out which sort of worked, it still wanted to run off, so I got it somewhat tight, then twatted the joint with a hammer and it broke free Salvaged the ARB link from this grotty thing, by hacking through the captive nut etc. Did a quick and dirty tart up job on it and stuck it on the new arm Which then went on the car, was much quicker to do this side once I knew the right way to get all the arms to play ball. Just needs everything torquing up then thats the rear suspension done. Tried a wheel on quickly for a slight mojo boost Jacked up under the wheel with some wood and found that my coilover settings were way off and it's still way too high so that needs some adjustment. Next job is front coilovers which are build and ready to go, only slight issue is that the slot in the coilover body doesn't quite line up with the pinch bolt So I'll either have to hope the pinch bolt can just buzz through it, or I'll run a drill or file through while its on the car and all set up.. Other jobs (mostly so I remember what needs doing) are, fit the new clip on the rear screen trim so it seals, paint the two remaining front screen trims and fit, front coilovers as mentioned, bleed the brakes, trans oil and filter change, investigate/fix the rear heated screen, remove the rear bumper to assess the extent of the rust, general rust repair, get the RAYS wheels fitted, trim the rusted exhaust heatshield, maybe replace the back box, fit the new radiator and fit the new AC condensor Good job the Weekender has been postponed till September now eh

I just had this turn up today to eventually go in my MGB Will be my first time dabbling in properly older car audio, it's a NOS item apparently and I did buy it mostly for the looks I'm hoping to wire in an aux in or bluetooth receiver possibly in line with the cassette deck so I can have some modern functionality still

Faebook Marketplace is an excellent place to find cheap cars these days I find. This V6, manual, Mondeo popped up today www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/3412442005507663/Looks clean for £750, plenty of potential. I too was thinking of the 406 Coupe, a great looking car. £900 for this automatic V6 example www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/275620060238784/I think coupes would be a good thing to look out for, the 90s was almost the decade of the coupe and now that they're a bit out of fashion, and many were overlooked for being front wheel drive and not overly dynamic, there should be some bargains to be had. The Puma often gets mentioned as a future classic, but what about the Cougar? £995, again an automatic V6 www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/301910960977687/A bit later (as the styling of the earlier versions can be challenging...) but the Hyundai Coupe sold in droves and as such are extremely cheap now, quality may not be as good as others and some may look down on the brand but could still have potential? £600 for this particular one, V6 again, doesn't actually mention what gearbox www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/2612210469036984

Can anyone identify these three spokes? They look pretty great. They look like 3SDM 0.05's but in 3 spoke rather than 5 spoke, and as far as I can see 3SDM didn't/don't do a 3 spoke version

Sorry, but has everyone gone mad!? Surely the jag is the perfect engine/box donor, not a daily! Haha there is a BGT with the Jag V6 and manual swap in the UK already Naturally I did do a bit of googling into how similar the bellhousing patterns are between the Jag V6 and Jag V8s, purely out of curiosity of course...

OK so no test video of the air horns.. I have tested them, and can confirm they do work though, they are bloody loud! So I'm very self-conscious of disturbing the relative peace of the neighbourhood but I am just glad that my work was worthwhile and they can go back into storage waiting to go on the car. Having done the air horns, I went looking for other easy jobs I could do in the evenings, so went back into my big pile of MG bits and pulled out the dashboard and lower radio panel. I had really planned to just clean the dashboard up, but having a closer look at it, I decided it would be worthwhile to strip it back and repaint it. The only things left on the dash were the rheostat, gauge cluster trim, indicator tell tale bits, and some little pins that are the pointers for the heater controls. I had run out of paint stripper so had to wait for some to turn up, while waiting I had a look at the rheostat. Now this was one of the very first things I noticed didn't work on the car, back on page 1 or 2 of this thread I think I bypassed it at the time as I didn't see any point in making the already dim dash lights, dimmer! But now I had the opportunity to take it apart Peel back those three tabs and the unit comes apart Revealing the probable cause of the issue, lots of nice corrosion. So simple job to clean that off and put it all back together I won't be able to test it for a while, but it turns much smoother now so I'm sure it will work fine. After this, I thought I'd give all the dashboard switches a strip and clean, they all worked before so this was more preventative maintenance Nothing nasty hiding in them and they all went back together fine. Now, I had mentioned that I bought a Smiths clock to replace the rubber bumper MGB clock I had in the car previously Should look a little more inkeeping. I'd been meaning to test it to see if it works, as luck would have it, I had the battery from my motorbike inside for a bit of charging, so hooked it up to see what's what As luck would have it, it works! Can hear it ticking away, and after leaving it for about a half hour, it even kept time. I need to get a new 3 gauge DIN pod and I can fit all three gauges to the radio panel. I've also got the paint stripper now, so just waiting for the weather to turn nice again and I can get to work on the dash

That paint looks like a beautiful job Love the RX3 as well, I used to have an FC RX7 a couple of years back so I'm a fan of pretty much anything with a rotary in it, it's a shame more of the old school rotary cars didn't survive

Was fairly straightforward to be honest, probably the trickiest bit on reassembly was trying to line up two long screws that hold the bits of the compressor body together

Excellent thank you. Mine says huile de Vaseline but I think I will give 3 in 1 a go. Well I have tested them now and can confirm they are very loud so it seems that a clean out, repair of a dry solder and re-oiling did the trick!

I'm sure there is one in the readers rides section that the owner is trying with selling. This could be mine possibly? 😁 hass123 feel free to have a look at the thread on mine, I'm 50:50 with keeping it or selling it at the moment, it's got mot but is a project. Alternatively, if you're on Facebook, on the honda legend owners club page there is a guy who's just decided to sell his coupe along with a JDM coupe spares car so may be worth checking out.
