Any chance of getting the master cylinder and servo from a V6? I´d be tempted to go down the scrappies to see what´s lying around. Oh i modified your title a bit hope you get more feedback that way

Great progress Mark, i´m surprised you found that must rust though... i knew it needed a bit of sorting i saw that last year when i was laid underneath it doing the bushes but that was a lot of work, still at least it´s all sorted now. When´s the first run in anger planned? - hopefully CF at the Pod, can´t wait to see it running 11´s

didnt think of that one, should be interesting ;D Hope so ;D I will be watchin this thread, like the idea of a turbo estate, niice Cheers, it´s going to take a while though before the turbo is fitted just sell the Escort and make the Piazza fast they're a lot cooler. Matt Sorry Matt but i beg to differ - but then i´d have to just sell the Escort and make the Piazza fast they're a lot cooler. Matt the piazza has a disadvantage of being almost twice as heavy as an escort estate so would need twice the work to make it as quick but the piazza has a great engine and a very strong axle and box that will work really well in an escort as a fantastic alternative to the usual red top or YB Couldn´t have put it better myself mate ;D ;D Shame to see another piazza getting broken.... if I hadn't seen Dave's previous list of completed projects I would say it's a waste but I have good feelings about this ;D Thanks Adam, if the Piazza would have been a really good one then i wouldn´t use it as a donor car - Jon (Dugong) even agrees so i don´t need to have a guilty conscience. its all Isuzu. pretty torquey for a turbo lump as well even off boost . vauxhall brava diesel clutch is the same as piazza one strangely just an odd fact I thought i'd share ;D Funny you should mention the clutch - i was looking at german eBay last night and it´s the same as the Opel 2,5 diesel one and is available over here.

Well it looks like i´m going to have to change the title from "24V" to "Turbo" After talking to Mark Nightmares the other day he sold me the merits of that the Piazza Turbo that Jon (Dugong) has for sale ;D Well the running gear should get the Escort up to speed nicely, especially after Mark has given the engine a bit of attention - so i´ll be collecting it on the 12th and will be stopping off at the Ace on my way home ;D Happy days...... ;D

You´ll find that a lot of old dealerships and wharehouses close to the "Ring" are used for storing cars - the cars are not abandoned, they´re just parked up waiting for the owners to return and thrash them around the track

Thanks for all your ideas and comments guys. ;D
I´m not keen on bike engines in cars so that definately won´t be happening. I´ll be keeping my eyes open for something interesting the nextfew months - i´ll buy a complete car and then transfer all the goodies over i think - should be easier that way.

The box on the 240D is knackered mate so no help to you unfortunately.
When you undoe the hex screw you´ll notice the steering tighten up and will have more resistance in the steering wheel - i just turn them back a bit to free it up a gain - much like adjusting a wheelbearing. Hopefully a professional will be along to answer your question properly but it´s worked for me the last 20 years mate. ;D

Thats a big 'ol lump of diesel! That shouldnt have much trouble dragging the truck+car around I would have thought. Nice work so far Oldbus Steve Cheers Steve, it´s only got 72 BHP but will go all day, if i was to drive around the world i´d do it with this engine fitted to something interesting ;D I see about the ramp, that makes perfect sense now, I knew you would have a cunning plan Tony Not so much cunning mate but the simplest way of doing it in my books Great work as always, your motivation is second to none! Cheers mark, much appreciated. here´s a little update from todays antics.... As decided yesterday the only way to get the diesel to fit is by moving it backwards a few inches so after measuring it up carefully i attacked the bulkhead with an anglegrinder... Before.. After.... Which then allows me to move the engine back a bit... which in turn gives me enough clearance for the axle.. and allows me to use the original Mercedes radiator and gearbox oilcooler... so to sum it all up - i´m pretty chuffed with everything so far. Tomorrow i´ll refit the front axle just to make sure everything fits and start making up the engine and gearbox mounts. ;D
