Yes , getting into old cars is a piece of pee if you were not around back then to know it - notice door pins disappeered mid to late 90s .... . They WILL get it , you just have to make it too risky for them to try [ cameras , lights , gates , dogs etc ] and to much like hard work . I'm starting to wonder if a sticker system would work - something like a RR sticker of something , like a facebook page of the same name . People join said page and if there car is nicked other members do there utmost best to plaster it on soical media , the more local the better . Would that make cars theives think again , as we all know they are into cars , hence read the very pages we do ? Would knowing that a car was part of a social media sharing group act as a detterant ? good shout

Still in awe at how clean your car is!! Love the retro stereo setup, Boschmann speakers are decent. And for that price you can't go wrong! Cheers mate. And you're definitely correct about that price! Three seatbelt mounts in the back? Quite ambitious haha It's more spacious than you might think My dads friend is a car dealer so rode around in many Mk2 Fiesta's most notably a red Xr2 with the rubber spoiler, skirts and pepperpots. I love these little motors my dad brought my sister a MK1 in red in 2000 for £75 and a mint metalic panda for £50. She chose the Panda but I do wish he kept the Mk1 for me in storage. Would definitely have been worth holding on to seeing their value now...

Really liking how this is turning out. I love how tidy it looks as is, proper cool car for a 17 year old. When it comes time to address the arch gap, Steve Harris is the man for suspension bits for Mk1 and 2 Fiesta's. His website is www.outlawmotorsport.co.uk but drop a message on the Fiesta pages on Facebook and you'll soon find him. A.J cheers mate. thanks for the link i'll definitely look into his stuff when it comes to suspension changes

Well i'm not 100% sure as I haven't actually even started lessons yet! I turn 17 next week. But I've been quote around £400 with a provisional, not sure on full license but I don't think it will be extortionately expensive, and that quote was with my mods. In other news, picked up the centre console I needed for £40, plus a new water pump as the old one has a small leak, plus some other bits and bobs. Cheers for that. Good news on finding a console, are you putting a ford radio in or something more modern? We bought the original ford radio with the console for originality but I'm putting in a Kenwood unit my friends dad gave me for free... if that one isnt ok I have a couple of others I can put in.

How is the insurance if you don't me asking? I'm helping a friends son restore a little Peugeot 205 cj cabriolet for his first car and he's worried it may be expensive. I always thought the old cars were more sociable than the modern stuff? Well i'm not 100% sure as I haven't actually even started lessons yet! I turn 17 next week. But I've been quote around £400 with a provisional, not sure on full license but I don't think it will be extortionately expensive, and that quote was with my mods.
