Should only be a slight differnce in performance and it is possible to drift an auto. But you risk major damage to the box if it goes wrong

Make and Model: Austin Rover Park Lane Year: 1987 Location: Worthing BN11 5NZ Colour: White/Black MOT Expiry: Nil Tax expiry: Nil Manual Number of previous owners: 9 Class C/D write off? none Available Service History: none Engine: 998cc 40,000 miles, complete stage 1 system with minispares replacement head, rolling roaded at Peter Baldwins - 64bhp recorded on receipt. kenlowe electric fan, minispares 2 core radiator, glass filter king, facet electric fuel pump, electronic ignition. new belhousing gasket and oil seal Suspension: mini7 dampers 28 point adjustment, hi-lows and doughnut on rear, trumpet and doughnut front. poly bush mounted rear subframe, solid front subframe mounts, thicker tie bars. New bearings/swivels in front hubs. Brakes: Fiesta disk conversion with brand new disks/pads/recon fiesta calipers and goodrich hoses, new rear brake assemblies, swing arms e.t.c. New handbrake cable and brake cylinders on rear. Body: 1987 Park Lane, offside sill replaced, removeable steel front with fibreglass bonnet (not flip) miglia arches, exterior electric and extinguisher pulls. Brand new rear subframe, perfect condition original front subframe, battery box in boot. Interior: Fully carpeted (black), classic bucket seat, harnes, full 6 point rollcage welded in, no head lining, one off home made dash in vinyl, FIA master cut out switch, FIA onboard fire extinguisher and pull handle, short shift gear lever, large dial rev counter (adjustable shift light settings) Wheels: 10" weller wheels with good tread tyres(Aoo8's I think) could do with a freshen up. Has been sat in my garage now for over a year without turning a wheel, I just don't get the time to use it how I intended. The battery is dead, but I jump started it and it fired 2nd time after 6 months of not being started. It pulls well with the tuned 998 engine and is easily the best handling mini I have ever driven. I removed the dash to change it but never got round to it, can easily be put back together. It is practically ready for its mot, having done most of the work already. The only thing I had left to do was pug up a hole in the rear valance and lube up the wiper mechanism. When I picked it up(on 13"s) How it looks today Would really like a swap as I have no idea of what the car is worth(feel free to make an offer though), so WHY? I like alot of things so try me, cars/van/motorcycle etc Will add some more photos in a bit Gary

My old e34 used to do the same thing if you switched it off to soon. For me the best way was to remove the spark plugs, give them a wipe off, turn engine over to help pump fuel out, refit plugs and crank.
A friend of mine has an Rx8 and did the same thing, unfortunately you have to go underneath the car to get to the plugs on these, he was none to happy, but the RAC man said its a common thing as mentioned above lol
Fingers crossed its a cheap fix!

Belt and braces I say. Its not a job you'll be wanting to do twice and allows for future upgrades to the lights/stereo/engine etc.
I use 35mm(square) cable on the works vehicles(buses) and its still easy to route and surprisingly supply as well. Just good quality cable I suppose.

25mm(square) will be more than adequate for what you want it to do. Go for a silicon based insulator as it gives better oil/heat protection.
I can make you up any size lead you need with whatever ends you want, but it will be expensive to post it to you as good quality wiring at that length/thickness is very heavy.
As long as the cable is routed well, you shouldn't have to worry about fussing it. In my experience, if a pos cable spilts and connects to ground, it tends to burn out the few strands that touch rather than weld itself to the chasis. At which point you would have hopefully noticed/smelt it happen. It is better to be safe then sorry though, so go for a fast blow fuse thats of the correct amperage.

Good plan. My first thought when I saw it was that would make a great sleeper project with the T5 lump in it
