Ok this was in Readers Other Modifications but as i'm now done with the camper and started modifying it i think it will fit in well here This is the camper van bit retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=othrmod&action=display&thread=92595Now it is new but if you think about it its a transit Ok this is my daily van so it can't be of the road for long so first things first i have done alot to the van here is a list - Add side marker lights high and low ones
- Add roof lights like the truck in usa
- Extra back lights above the back door
- A flashing beacon
- Yellow spot on the A bar
- Extra reversing light which are working lights too
- Reversing camera hooked up to a 10" LCD colour screen
- Some good speakers and cd player
- Wind deflectors
- Made car seat covers fit my seat
- Did the camper van conversion
- Electric windows
- There is more but i can't remember them
So the job i want to get done now is paint it, and add 4 more spots to the roof not sure i'll keep the yellow lamps on the A bar we will see What you think

Right time for an update most of this work as been done in the past month or so here goes Well i got my A bar so i fitted it and my new number plate which i bought cause i made bits of my old one in my ice trip And on the van and it looks nice on there and yes i have walked in to it and it dose hurt ;D All so i had a look around my grandads shed's and field and boy did i find stuff and i mean stuff going to have another look again but this trip i found a camper-van tolit, fuse box, a bit of work top just enough to do my work tops, sink well lots of sinks ;D , fog lamps, camper fridge, a length of gas pipe, a odd looking thing that came of a 4X4, a few 3 ton car jacks and a 10ton jack, there is more stuff there but you need a day or two to find things. Had a alternator trouble but now i Fixed my alternator had to get new bolts which where hard to find i must have looked at every mk5 di to get the bolts of and every one i seen had none and i must have been to every scrap yard in Co Clare wasn't fun so i found a mk4 and took the bolts of that it worked no more shacking and not a noise from the belt so thats one job done so nice to be ably to drive with the lights on again ;D And i fitted my yellow spots to my a bar not wired yet but i think i have enough lights ;D My new work top got it for free and yes that's close to the handle so i have to trim it A curtain rail above the sliding door hope to fit a curtain here soon must move that wheel been there for a long time now almost a year now Oh my roof lights there orange and the side ones are white facing forwards and red backwards look nice at night Yellow spot wired and working so that's 23 lights now on high beam and 21 on dip  I also cleaned my shed well i had help from my mate again i think his after something ;D and yes there is a car in there shame the van won't fit in door to low

You've just convinced me never to throw out the leftover bits from our kitchen just in case we need 'em for a future camper project… Keep up the good work!

gotta love transits! closest i had to a transit camper though was a mattress in the back and a gas stove!
those wheels are off a landrover discovery, so slightly wrong pcd, unless they're off a trailer or something but they look just like landrover wheels

did some odd jobs to the van over the last week most of it was painting the inside now it smells of gloss when i drive it ;D You can see my orange camper seat covers on the roof had them re trimmed from brown to orange but got the brown ones made into covers ;D I got a new camera so i tried it out took a picture of the van a nice low shot with the cat looking out of the door and the dog to And my dash as been red for over a year now but i ran out of paint when i started and never finished but I'm changing the color to a purple now so it will get done and the gray dash will be black as i had the gray

would it be worth ripping out the gutless 2.5Di, and swapping in a more powerful, more economical Td? If it's FWD, slap in a whole 1.9Td + gearbox from a pug/citroen If RWD, engine from a pug/citroen again, along with a gearbox from an LDV Pilot 1.9 doing the latter option myself - starting the conversion in about 3 weeks

I'm going to keep the 2.5Di but may turbo it at some point but for now it runs very well and it will love to see your engine conversion

Got a door of a mk4 minibus but haven't got around to picking it up got it for free only thing is i have to give my red door for the blue door with a window but i don't mind going around with a blue door although the gf may be upset but she said she will buy the paint and that was 3 weeks ago so this might make her buy it sooner rather then later
