I've been thinkng a lot lately about if money was no object, what cars would i have in my dream garage. I once worked for a fella who had at his house a FIFTY car garage, actually it was under his house, but anyway, this housed some of his car collection, and in it there was some pretty high end stuff, but also, some pretty low end stuff too! And this wasn't his complete collection either! So here's the game, you wake up one morning to find that you're as wealthy as Jay Leno, but you've only got room for TEN cars. What do you have? Here's my selection, in no particular order:- The proper Batmobile... I've wanted one of these for as long as i can remember, and even bid on a couple of replicas! Boyd Coddingtons Chezoom. Like a '57 Chevy, just loads better! Moskvich 2335 pick up. Basically a Talbot Alpine pick up. DeTomaso Pantera. Probably not in pink, unless it came with the Playboy bunny! Ed Roths Beatnik Bandit. You're probably asking yourselves why? Well, why not. I had this as a Hotwheels car when i was a kid... I never really got over that! 1969 Plymouth Barracuda fastback. This was the first ever Hotwheels car i got when i was a kid... Never really got over that either! Alfa Romeo SZ. Just too damn ugly not to be cool! A proper Manx Beach Buggy. And it would need to be orange too! A Ford Taunus coupe. Like a mk3 Cortina fastback! And lastly... A Lancia Stratos... In Alitalia colours! So what ten cars would share space in your garage?

I don't have the whole list of ten worked out yet but it would definitely include at least one Ford Galaxie, a big block Ford F100, and a few BMC cars. Possibly also a Studebaker Big 6 from the '20s for no other reason than that my grandfather had one for many years.

1) Aston Martin DB5 - it's a Bond thing 2) Jag E- type roadster - the epitomy of swinging 60s London cool 3) Merc Grosser for when Parker's driving and I'm in the back with that bunny girl - note to self must have optional curtains. 4) Facel Vega - just stunning 5) Capri RS3100 - best Capri in my book 6) Ferrari F40 - because you need at least one prancing horse. 7) An original 595 Abarth in white with red leather. 8) E30 M3 - the ultimate 'Ultimate Driving Machine' 9) Jensen Interceptor - such amazing machines, like a road going private jet 10) Rolls Corniche - was a bit shy on cabrios and well if you want a cabrio do it properly.
However now I have 10 I'm missing an Alfa Romeo and where's that mint mk1 Golf GTi I always promised myself? Not only that I'm missing my E28 M5, 3.0 CS and my Rover P6 3500S.

Hmmmmmmm.... My Reliant Scimitar Omega conversion, finished by me, no amount of money would have anyone else finish it, My Lotus Elise 111S, I'm loving the old-school honesty of it, A Lotus Evora, it doesn't even have to have an S badge on the back, Porsche Cayman with minimal options (I used to lust after a 911, but the 981 is gorgeous, the 987 a bit gawky but possibly more old-school), maybe as we're talking money-no-object, I should be thinking 993, MX-5 (NC) as a mark of respect for our own car that has probably been the single best car we have ever had, factoring in purchase price, fun, running costs, reliability, practicality in both summer and winter, Aston Martin V12 Vantage, just 'cos it's a V12 Aston Martin. There you go. 6 cars. Anything else is mere fantasy 7. Modified 240Z...

The funny thing i've noticed about this is that we (as a group of people who are into cars) have not chosen many 'super cars' for our dream garages. Most people who have chosen to include them in their dream garage list have only chosen one or two. Odd. I'll bet if i go into work tomorrow and ask the same question to my workmates (most of which are not into cars) Their lists will be all Lamborghinis and Ferarris. It's funny, because with the exception of the DeTomaso Pantera, i've never fancied a super car, not even as a child, although i wouldn't turn down a 308 GTB, but i need to grow a Magnum Moustache to go with it, or maybe just let the wife use it as she's already got one lol! But seriously, why have we all gone for what my work collegues would call 'lesser models'? Having said all this, i must say that their are some inspired choices here, that ISO Grifo, The Doctor genius choice, i've always fancied one, but just plain forgot about having it in my list... I even bid on one once:- This one, it's the only time i've seen one for auction, i went to about £1000 if i remember correctly, and early in the auction i was winning at one point, and frankly quite worried about how i was going to restore it, but eventually i was outbid and it sold for £10,211.00!! I wonder where it is now?

This was a really difficult choice to narrow it down to 10 cars, but i have chosen the 10 i can think of for the time being, of course i would add to it if money was no object. Daily Driver - E39 M5 Fancy Daily - F430 Scuderia Retro Daily - Cavalier Calibre Daily Utily and Junk Hauler - 2017 Ford Raptor Everyone needs a Rally Car - Audi Quattro And of course an F1 Car - John Player Special The Rare Collectible - BMW 3.0 CSL Art Car My parents had one of these before i was born - E-Type Jaguar Race Truck - Ecurie Ecosse Commer TS3 I couldn't think of number 10, so i went for the parts hauler - Transit Custom Sport
