So what do you have planned for 2016 Apologies for non retro and 2 wheeled content but I did it elsewhere and thought it would work well here (some pictures so you don't have to read all the text) Looks like I have a task or two required (These are definitely in no particular order) I need to sell this PITA I need to continue collecting parts and information on this Hey it looks better now than when I got it But nothing like it used to look like it's my retirement project....... (that's my excuse for slow progress) I must sort the BMW 740 out is in need of some suspension work - putting the 18's back on has revealed the dreaded "shimmey" (Not present running 16's) So I've bought every single arm and bush required to overhaul it all - (in the boot currently) It has a slight leak on the rocker cover seal (drivers side) and it needs a new ignition switch If I don't do that the track car doesn't get to the gathering The SLK 230 Continues it's role as a daily driver and is a paragon of reliability as well as a versatile load lugger and substitute track toy - I must change the oil on the supercharger this year (I said that last year) Brings me on to the track car Well that's moving forward Not as fast as I'd like but progress is progress and RRRG2016 is the target to have it moving under it's own stream - hopefully with doors on it So not much to do really....... Oh Motorcycle wise and I need to replace the fork seals and put a new battery on this so I can sell it.... I accidentally spent my Mongrel 3.7 litre engine rebuild fund buying it's bigger brother Oh it's developed a huge oil leak so I need to fix that before I can start it and the battery is kippered!!! (it's the other retirement project) Happy new year........

For 2016 I must:
Finish the MG?? Or at least make good progress on it
Come up with a daily driver solution that means I'm not constantly buying/selling cars
Not too sure I see myself doing either of those...

i have been thinking of buying a lexus gs300, and giving it some lows and good wheel choice and drift it, but still not sure on the car front, dunno what to buy, keep seeing things i want and then 2 minutes late see something else. Other than that, service the daily modern and keep looking for a car to play with.

My plan is to rebuild the rear suspension on the Benz (how hard can it be?) Rebuild the KE-Jetronic, it's showing its age at 230k miles and counting

Automotive aims for the year:
• get the Ax Gti T mot'd, legal, and ready for a trip to Holland for it's 30th birthday bash • get the Compomptives refurbed for the Ax • consolidate the fleet from 7 barely working cars to at least 4 working cars.
What that really means is replacing the wifes SportKa with something newer and bigger Selling my 406 and getting a modern family car (Mondeo 2.5t currently favourite...) Doing something with the damaged Octavia VRS that's sat for nearly a year. ooops. Making the 106 road legal as a work car for me Keeping the Fiesta in the garage as per normal Selling the Triumph Toledo 1300 and maybe getting a useable running classic instead.
• rebuild the double garage and kit it out properly • attend more shows, maybe even the RRG.
that's more than enough to keep me busy!!!!

Finish Scimega. Swap out the cooking Fiesta for something more fun for the wife (currently in more serious planning).
This might start a chain of events : NC MX-5 becomes 'my' daily, or the 'fun' car, which leaves the Elise and the Scimega where? The later part of the year might be one of decisions about the fleet.

This year i'm not going to buy or sell any cars, hate the process of selling anyway (though love the excitement and adventure of buying something new), really happy with the three i have, just going to keep what i have and maintain and improve them.
The Lotus Elite is half way through a rear suspension rebuild and exhaust modification, will also need MOT'd, should be back on the road in the spring then i plan to drive it a lot this year.
The E34, i absolutely love this, doing work to it just now for the MOT, replaced the rear brake pipes and fuel pipes, will need some other bits and bobs, will get the wheels refurbished properly some trim and maybe a bit of bodywork done, will also need to sort the worn wiper linkage (common E34 problem)
The Discovery 1 is my daily at the moment, would like to get 35" tyres for this at some point, maybe in the summer, apart from that (and maybe a service in the spring) it's not needing anything, cant see me ever parting with it, spent far too much on it and it's just too handy and fun to drive.

2016.... Hopefully the year I get my backside in gear!
Move the Mk3 Astra on, either as a whole or in bits. Get the Mk2 back on the road to enjoy.
Doesn't sound much, but life has gotten in the way of me doing either for past 5/6 years, so things need to change!!

I need to reduce my 15 car fleet by at least 66% and actually do some work on my Omega powered Dolly Sprint project. I have about 95% of the required parts, all I need now is some better weather and some motivation. It doesn't need to be on the road till October 2018 but if I don't make some progress soon........ My new years resolution is just to buy another retro! I've been retroless since just after the gathering 2014! Sure I have my girlfriends capri to do stuff with but as everyone probably agrees,it's just not the same. I'm hoping to find a renault 21 turbo or failing that another old ford of some kind.

Mine is to do anything to make my BMW drivable again, even if this is with the current smokey engine. I need to fit a new cylinder head to the Mrs old daily and either sell it and let it be my daily driver and give back my company car. I need to widen my driveway as we are running put of parking spaces. I have the parts I need for the BMW and have had for 4 yrs.

Slam B3 wagon Passat, put it in LPG, do a build thread for it, use it and get rid of 54 plate MGZR.
Finish MK2 8v Golf GTI, do a build thread, and either sell it, or find a way to store it somewhere that won't cost me a fortune.
Keep working on the Caravelle, take more pictures of progress so I can update the build thread properly, and actually get it used this year, because I LOVE that van, and not driving it since 2008 is making me angry at myself.
Do something interesting with Sarah's beetle.. Low, banded wheels, single colour, I reckon it'd be a cool looking cruiser that I could use on nice days to get to work.
Finish and auction off 78 Suzuki A100 2 stroke bike, sell and donate the final price to charity.
Make a start on my 1984 GS550, I've wanted to build an 80's J 4 stroke for a while, and if I manage this, I'll get my bike licence and get some use out of it.

(I do have plans for by Subaru powered beetle build as well, but realistically, this year will be spent making the money to do what it deserves)

Well after quite the year in 2015 doing everything but my projects (new job, getting married, training and completing a marathon, house renovation and a bit more besides). 2016 brings the intention to spend much more time on the toys, so in no particular order and starting this weekend: - Finish metalwork on MG (note not finish the car.. the fabrication alone will be more than enough!) ready for body prep and v8 fitment.
- Get Celica on the road... might be rough and ready for a short while but not unachievable
- Carry on with A35 project...
- Sort out a practical/sensible daily that can cope with ongoing house work, tows my car trailer and can handle an engine in the back etc. (my current 330ci
is very poor at doesn't do any of this!)
Going to be a busy (but fun!) year!

Basically, less Porsche, more Lotus. Funny you say that, tdk. I took a gamble on an '03 Elise this year. It has definitely been fun, and I've mostly used it on my 30-mile A and B road commute, at which it has been surprisingly capable. It's made going to work fun. Even at that age, they're still a very mechanical car, with the biggest worry being HGF. All told, doing a Rover K-series HG is a small worry for an exotic.
