Get somewhere quiet, upto about 90mph and proper hoy on the brakes as hard as you can. Do not stop. At about 20mph release the brake, speed back up then hard stop again. Repeat until they fade, usually only takes 3-4 goes. Trundle round braking normally till they cool off. They'll be bang on then. Most people drive like fannies running in EBC's and they just glaze up which I think is where they get their curse word reputation from. With the method above to run them in they're absolutely mental. It's how we do the rally cars and I do road cars they're proper gut wrenching after. I used a similar method on my civic and it they tried to pull your face off.

It's good isn't it. Our kids CRX has EBC disks and pads all round and it makes you feel physically ill when you stomp on them.

This is useful info - I was under the impression that EBC pads' bed-in coating meant that you eased them in differently to other pads...

Good to know. I'll find an empty road tonight and give them some stick.

Make sure its empty because Mr brand new BMW wont be able to out brake you.
maybe get a seat belt pad as well! Honestly thought i was going to set airbags off when i did an emergency stop it was like hitting a wall and that was on standard disks!

It's not hard at all to get shown up in that yard car park with AMD next door. Last time I was in TDI they had a very nice Mugen NSX. Run by a super friendly chap as well. Bought my cobra seats off of him.
Always liked the EP3, nearly bought one when I got my R53 but insurance was a bit lairy for me. Awesome car though and you seem to be doing it right.
Enjoy.

I think at the time top gear tested and found that possibly only a 911 came close to the stopping distance of the EP3, not many others pulled up quite as hard.
I'd imagine a late C6 or C5 would though..

Your spoilers bigger than the NSX so you win... Maybe.

Three words spring to mind.. Mid Life Crisis... Steady on, I'm only 35... I'm 43 and would love a EP3 as a daily driver! - got a 1.4 civic at the mo as a workhorse and I'm genuinely impressed. The motors a peach. ...But that rear spoiler...

Some good advise about the Yellow stuff bedding in methodology. I'll be following that when I pop the EBC's into the old Merc. Thanks.

OK, for complex reasons the 'more power' thing hasn't happened yet. But will soon! In the meantime, I've been training up the next #H8YAY generation... IMG_2532 by dbizzle_, on Flickr IMG_2530 by dbizzle_, on Flickr

Went to the Players Classic at the weekend. First time I've ever had a car actually on show - not that it's a worthy show car compared to the incredible builds that were there, but still. A frisson of excitement. Given the scorching weather, I did the sensible thing and parked it under a tree. Which, of course, meant that the car got covered in bird poo over the course of the day. *shrug* DSC_3776 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_4261 by dbizzle_, on Flickr
