Hi Jason, good to hear from people from Sunny Low. Vans been a van about 3 years, it was an estate car with welded up back doors about 4 years ago and before that it was pottering around town for a year as a silver gt Passat lowered on ATS Cups , 5 years in my ownership this December which probably about the longest I have ever owned one car. Used to be my daily until a couple of years ago and was always parked on the street as I had no garage then and we don't have a drive. Will have to go through my thread and try and get the pics that are missing back up when I have time I now know where I remember the number plate from. My cousin used to live very close to where you park/parked your car. But still for the life of me I can't remember seeing the car as a van lol. Can't wait to see it on the road, I'll make sure to drive past and have a good look when it's all done. I'm going to have to keep an eye on this build! Dug up a few old pics of how it used to be, looked so nice once ;D How i bought it, now leaving for Madrid which is what I bought the car for,old man in back groung Got back from Madrid and loved the car so much I spent what I earn t on some 2nd hand AVO coilies and ATS Cups and it went from there

Daily looking cool, bet local peeps just think you've put windows back in yours now.. Hi Steve, how are you and Wendy doing? Would love those roof bars, I would shorten them and put them to good use in the van. How have I not seen this before?! This is what RR is all about. Something undeniably bland and average turned into something brilliant by choice mods, hard work and a unique style.
Much respect goes out to you

Quick update. Spending most of the spare time I have making good and removing old paint etc. Volvo speedo is now sent away to be recalibrated and hopefully get the fuel and temp gauge working. One thing I'm not sure of is the position of the light switch. Have thought about using switches from another car and I have B5 Passat, Merc switches as I thought about using these but I have now decided to use the original switch's as they will be in keeping with the car Also thought about fitting my oil temp and pressure gauges in a similar position, what you guys reckon?

This is undoubtedly a daft question, but where does this bit go in relation to the dash? Then I can figure out what I'm looking at properly. At the moment it looks like the gauges need to be brought in a bit more towards the right, but not by much, it could be the camera since they do fish eye things a little bit.

Not a daft question, this bit will be upholstered to match the seat which it sits in the middle of. I have been over to some work on the van today but I feel total curse word, had the flu vaccination in October and never been right since, one virus after another and been of work on three different occasions. Anyway didnt do anything to the car/ van, just helped my mate around the yard Liked the look so fitted the gauges

I understand better now. The gauges are in the right place, if they were closer it would've been too cramped. It's funny how sometimes a part makes no sense until you can see it in situ properly. When the padded red is on, those dials and switches are going to look really nice.
Hope you get better soon! Unspecific illness sucks.

Managing a few hours a week on the van and it's getting near to being painted. Do seem to have time in between little monsters sleeps that i spend on the daily. Rear wheels Ive had banded and the fronts I am in the process of reducing the et by knocking out the centers and repositioning them, tell you something they take some knocking out Not welded in yet but this is how they will look

oof could do with a set of them for mine hint Got them banded 2 inches at A C Fabrication in Yorkshire and then rattle can spray painted them in the back yard. Then fitted with a pair of part worn tires from a local seller, Pit Stop in Lowestoft Once I have got the front wheels how I want then it's going to be a cheapish set of wheels, just might have to add a bit of camber which is dead easy as it's drum breaks on the rear
