i started out with a desperately rotten Estelle 120/5 which i promptly broke for bits. Then I splurged all the money I had gathered up, plus another half again, on a orange 130LSE in Kent, before I had a driving licence. Picked it up, won the auction by 13p from the other bidder with 6 seconds to go... manually! and my dad drove it back through england for me. I still have it, about 6 years on. not long after i got it, and stupidly pulled the vinyl roof off... now undone... all neons and terrible sound system removed!!

this was my actual first car, albeit just after I sold it. Purchased in mid 1993 when I was 16 & on the road when I passed my test 6 days after my 17th birthday. 26k in the first year & on minimal maintenance & maximum abuse. still have 2cvs now & always will!

Wow what a response, there are (were in some cases ) some great cars out there. Mine was sold on but the chassis was knackered, well rotted through, the rear wheel used to move a 12" out of the rear arch when cornering made it interesting though. Cheers, Stu.

I'll dig out a pic of my first, but you'll have to visualise it for now:
Black Riley 1.5, with a jack-up kit, red axle, 10x15 Wolfies (with General Grabbers) on the back, stock sized slots on the front - black 'n' flames, witches painted on the bootlid, black fur interior.
AJK 316C where are you now?

Had a Chevette at 14 which I drove around ahem, private land. Front ended into wall by so called mate then sold engine to local fella, helped him remove it with scaff bars. First Legal car was Austin Metro 1L pepperpot alloys tomato soup red. Top car.

First car was a 1969 MK1 escort 1300 super. Next one was this, I bought it of an old boy for £30, and immediately sprayed the stripe on down the side. Had it a few weeks and it got nicked, vanished for a week and then found engine running in the middle of the road about a mile away.In the meantime I'd replaced it with a 1800 Vauxvall Viva in a fetching shade of yellow, you can just see the bonnet in the picture.

My first one was the White Mini Clubman Estate in the pic (I have a better pic but I cant find it When I got it it was fubard, filler bodged everywhere but underneath it was quite solid. Me and Dad stripped the bodywork and gave it a rattle can coat of white which came out really well, added 1275GT style stripes (1000GT ) spotlights, fancy bits, MG metro seats and rookee walnut dash amongst others, and authough it ran its standard 1000cc lump we added a 3/4in SU from an MG metro which made it spit flames on the overrun (i didnt realise this until my mate who had a sierra said he risked a melted bumper if he followed me for too long ! ;D) The susspention was shagged but it handled supurbly. I ran it for just over a year until the cover sills started to peel away. There wasnt much else wrong with it but i scrapped it anyway. MUG!

That Maxi next to it is mega cool! Right now that comment is the best thing I could possibly read. My Dad is currently very ill in a hospice and that car is sitting in the garage awaiting reassembly of the dashboard (its got so many electrical extras behind the dash and its in bits, a wiring nightmare!) and it also needs paint too. When its done I'm going to put my twist on it, but I'm not going to take it away from what it is. Without being biased, as far as Maxis go, its the nuts.

G-reg Rover (re-badged Austin) Metro Clubman GL 5 door in Nightfire red, was a proper weapon with its knackered 1275 A-series! Drank oil and petrol in equal amounts, I ruined it by attaching a Metro turbo bodykit and wheels, and generally sticking any tat I could find to it! Looked a bit like this.....
