The goverment has kindly announced the day of the forthcoming royal wedding as a public holiday.
So for those of you who don't fancy being sat in front of the box watchin a posh bloke get hitched, a tour of the Peak District is being planned!!!
Times & routes are to be confirmed over the comming weeks. However I can confirm at this early stage that it will be starting from the east side of the Peaks & will include at least one stop-off for lunch

What a great idea. Not sure if I am getting the bank holiday off or not but I will keep an eye on this thread.

This is being organized by Trev + myself + another member of oldskoolford. We're attempting to plan an interestin/worthwhile route and could do with some constuctive input. Anyone who's up for this roadtrip & who has a good knowledge of the peaks, make yaself known pleeeze either to myself or Trev. Ta!

Hmm should be fun. Ive lived in the high peak all me life. Theres an absolute abundance of great roads so the hard part will be choosing! The other good thing is that most of them are great fun even in something as painfully slow as my little mini, plus living here you can tend to forget about just how amazing the scenery is...

Right its been a while since ive been on here, been tied up with work like last year when i wanted to try this.
If anyone has got some suggestions as to what routes they think may be good then please drop me an email and i will hopefully be meeting up with the other fella and Mick in the near future. ive lived on the edge of the peaks and spend alot of time there so any suggestion as to what roads you like or if you can recommend anywhere for food is a bonus.
Thanks Trev

I tried writing a list of roads, ended up with a bit of a trek! I came up with all sorts from around the holmfirthrd/woodhead, through the b6105, b6049 millers dale, most of the goyt valley area. Trouble is every road I remembered from driving I checked on the map and that just reminded me of all the roads around it!
