First off, I've scoured for something similar but had no joy (maybe the thread name is off). We can be in no doubt that winter cometh, and I know that many of us have project threads on here. I'm not looking to create a mountain of project threads into one here, but rather an "early NY resolution" if you will. We have 4-6 months of cold and rain ahead of us, when some folk knuckle down and push their pride-and-joys to the next level. Why not see how far we get? One picture per car, and a brief outline of what your winter goals are for next season, then a thread link so we can see how well you did next year. To kick things off, I have 3 as it happens... The newest addition to the fleet. Various niggles to chip through, but mainly it has to be ready for next year with some decent wheels, improved induction, possibly improved fuelling and a better understanding of the ECU. Stage 1 basically! TVR ChimaeraThe terrorist as it has been named, needs to be finalised. At this moment in time it has a variety of niggles but more than anything else it needs a decision. Either I sell her as a near completed project, or I nut up and complete it. A slow burner so far but this winter I need the space its taking up. The TerroristThis is the said requirement for the Terrorists space. At present its tucked away in a corner feeling sorry for itself. Very close to running, and a snag list to chip through before the first start. Basically, I expect to have this at least turn key if not running by summer. MR2

My aim is to get my '24 road legal for spring. Current to-do list is to finish refitting the interior, service and MOT it, and get it registered with the DVLA (it's a dutch import). Might even do lows and wheels.

I'm surprised you haven't had more takers on this thread so far, maybe it's because you started the bar so high with 3 awesome projects! So I'll chip in and lower the bar somewhat... Winter is a tricky time for car activity for me, I only have a driveway and it tends to get a bit wet and chilly over the winter! That said, now that the 924 is finally MOT'd I would like to get it ready for a track-day in the new year. -Thread link in Sig- -Steve- PS. stevecrx your shiny 924 is seriously embarrassing 'The Shonky Rocket'! Registering my Greek import Corolla was very straight forward and your 924 looks ready to MOT tomorrow so I'm sure you can be on the road before Christmas.

This is a good thread idea. Set a date by which winter is technically over and progress can be measured, that way there might be some motivation? 1930 austin 7 - new body is finally here and will get fitted this winter. Several other things to be getting on with but this is the only one I'm committing to having done.

I'm just hoping for roadworthy by April. That involves welding, which I'm not very good at, mechanical work, which i'm not very good at, and money, which I haven't really got. Main stumbling blocks are going to be the weather and my mojo, which seems to be going up and down like a whores draws at the minute!

PS. stevecrx your shiny 924 is seriously embarrassing 'The Shonky Rocket'! Registering my Greek import Corolla was very straight forward and your 924 looks ready to MOT tomorrow so I'm sure you can be on the road before Christmas. Cheers stevek. The shinyness is the reason I bought it - I didn't want to be messing around with bodywork and I thought it was worth a punt even with the DVLA stuff. Unfortunately the bathroom takes precedence over the car so it will have to wait until after Christmas. I've been reading your build thread with great interest, I like the direction you've gone with your 924.

Nice thread Over drive, This Caviler has not driving since 2005 and last weekend I got it running, it needs welding in all the places GSI's rot. The plan is to get someone willing to weld the beast, I will put all the good bits on it but it might still look a right mess from the out side. If I have time I have to pick the carcass of one XE engine and externally prep another so it is ready for the Cav should it need a spare engine.

Annoyingly I currently don't have anywhere to work on my cars apart from the street so things may be a bit slow to happen but my aim is to fix the last little niggly issues on the Jag to get it ready for sale early next year to make way for a new daily And I have many plans for the MG but I fear not many of these will get realised thanks to the aforementioned lack of indoor space to work on it :/ But plans include bodywork, engine mods, electrics fixing/modifying, possible Sebring arches, rear suspension work, etc etc

Not very retro, but this winter's target is to 1. complete the Renault Master campervan ready for touring next year, 2. tidy the Citroen Relay campervan ready to sell around Easter next year, letting me 3. get back to the Scimega, and 4. possibly get flash with a new daily.

Annoyingly I currently don't have anywhere to work on my cars apart from the street Isn't it ironic? I'd kill for some outdoor space to work on mine, instead of the oven that is parking here!

Resuscitating this from it's 7 year lay up: It requires a new rear axle, cambelt covers, cambelt and a bloody good service, well that and a good scrub up!

Here`s mine; Bought 2 years ago to do up and sell on as a mint example. For a number of reasons, being ripped off by supposed Alfa specialists and having it sat around for over 6 months at another guy waiting for the work to start, I decided to tuck it up in the unbit, and prep it as a track toy. It`s stripped out, and ready for the weldathon, which a mate is going to do over Christmas. Then it`s time to collect the track bits and bobs like cams, exhaust, roll cage, seats etc etc. The plan is to have it ready for the track by April....can`t wait to hear the 3.0 V6 busso at full throttle!

92 Eunos Roadster S-Special that I've put up on stands in the garage for a tidy up and underseal of the underside. Need to figure out where it is leaking oil from and would love a set of meister coilovers but that's not likely to happen this winter. My Ducati Monster which I've just fitted with clipons and want to get the engine out of the frame to repaint it because it looks a bit rough all flaking off the horizontal cylinder:
