In another of this months little strange turns (there's been some odd things happen in the last few weeks)...
Had to go over to the metal yard to collect on a few scrap loads we'd had lifted this week.
Decided to take one of my employees so that he would know where to go in future and save me having to do it.
While I was inside he was waiting/moving the van around - and spotted "something old, might be a Mustang or something" against the fence behind a Merc CLK I mistook for an E46 (it was dark!)
[if I was by myself I would not have been looking round or had the time to spot it. The last time I took one of the other guys over was 6 months ago, it happens rarely, and he knew nothing about cars - this one does and is fairly good at spotting rarities]
I squinted, I walked towards it - and then it dawned on me what it was... and I went straight inside and did a deal to buy it.
That was yesterday.
Today same employee came in early, hitched the trailer up and went and fetched.
And lo and behold we now have this:
it has 55k, no wheels, spare bumpers with it, and we lifted it with the forklift and decided it has virtually no rot.
it's a four speed manual and while they were supposed to be working, the boys hooked up the necessaries and turned it over... and it runs. Perfectly.
Rang the metal yard, apparently it was brought in as a garage clearance with a few other cars, guy needed space, don't know where the wheels went, and it has been ELV-scrapped so that's a little issue but apparently can be re-reg'd with a VIC? (advice welcome on that)
Anyway, today I thought we'd be killing off another BMW or two, but instead we resurrected a Toyota.
