Have you tried running over it with another vehicle? Yeah and to me total surprise its not come off! Usually I use the rear of a MK3 golf and its popped them all off. however backing over it in my L200 hasn't made it budge! The jack and wood method worked well, it pulled it down a fair way but not enough to break it, I don't particularly want to go smacking at the bead with the whole lot under tension in fear of getting clumped with a chunk of timber.

I've got some BFGoodrich 30" tyres on my truck that need to come off. I've broken a few beads, but this is one suborn fecker and I can not bust it.
I've trie mad barking my truck ok it with the wood, with out the wood, smacking it with a hammer, home made Jack and wood bead breaker, everything I can think of.
Is there a trick I am missing or are there just some beads that can not be broken wo thought a pneumatic tyre press?

You hear some people get some right bargains in a regular basis which makes me feel a little unsuccessful, but then again it could all be fairy tales.
Two of my best were a GTIR pulsar, paid £150 for it but it was a mess.
I think the best though was my prelude.
H22A2 engine, same as the type R accord, MT4 or something gearbox, had a LSD as standard. Ktec coilovers, R888's Nur Spec exhaust, big cage, Cusco bars, MoMo seats and Williams harnesses and a load of other little bits.
My friend had bought a EP3 to replace the prelude as it was too brash and uncomfortable for him and his partner. He brought the EP3 round and we got it up on the ramps to discover it had two miss match coilovers on the front and KWVariant coilovers on the rear, all were shagged. He asked me to return it to standard, strangely I found someone who wanted a set off odd coilovers in exchange for standard items. The deal was done and I installed the standard suspension on the EP3. When I gave it back the owner gave me the prelude in form of payment. So technically it cost me 4 hours labour.

Yes, £200 would take it.

Yes, the rear offside had a new damper fitted, I am under the impression there was some trouble with the fitting. Could this be responsible for the lean?
Unfortunately this was all done in the previous owners possession so I am unsure if any further work was carried out. A knocking has developed in the N/S/F somewhere, I think this could also be a contributing factor that requires further attention.

Is this fully smoked? Or smoked and part cooked or something? And for a little inspiration - Pork Butt and Brisket.... Mmmmmm.... P. I have quite a large smoker but am still struggling a little bit to master the art.

A sharpened piece of copper, new welding tip sharpened into a point or a bit of thick firm copper cable.
At work I make large AHU and HVAC units that have huge stainless panels fitted inside a crate like affair. whilst the units are still in the workshop we have the plastic film fitted to the panels and it is only removed just before packing.
Our panels are made out of two sheets of cut and folded stainless, they're packed in the middle with insulator and then riveted together. We use a sharpened bit of copper to cut the film because it does not scratch the stainless at all. we have been doing it for years and no one is yet to scratch the stainless.
So in short, a sharpened bit of copper.

Have you got on turbosport or passion ford? Very helpful chaos and they may be able to point you in the direction of a cheaper alternative.
I had it many years ago with a imported Toyota, needed a droplink, they were about £80 a pair. After talking with a few people it turned out that (ironically) ford Mondeo items for £20 were a direct fit and left £60 in my pocket.
Might be worth asking on there. But yes I do fee your pain, had an M3 years ago and a full set of discs and pads were over £1000!!!

I've had a hankering for one of these for ages, always liked them and I am very local, however I can't see how much you want and I really shouldn't buy another car!
However I do posses a compression tester, and I'm sure I could pop around one evening after work if you wanted to run a test on it? Gillingham isn't exactly huge, so wherever you are I probably drive past you on a regular basis.

Come up to our medway meets at the Historic Dockyard. Huge turn out of cars, massive bunch of friendly people and only about 20/30 minutes from you down in ashford.
Hopefully this will help restore your mojo.
little shot of me leaving in my cooper at 7:00

Hello chaps.
I had a bit of a go with the spanner have have adjusted the torsion bars, well torsion bar on just the passengers side.
For now all appears to be sitting a lot better than before and far more level. I read on the delcia forum that they can settle around -10mm. So I wound the bar up an extra 10mm.
What could have caused the torsion bar to sag in such a way? Could repeatedly bumping up curbs cause a sag over years? A little too quick into a speed bump or pot hole?
I really am hoping that my fix is a permanent fix and not just a temporary job.

I have always been fond of these cars, mainly because of the shape and sound but never really looked at them much until this thread.
£2,500 for 350/360 BHP Mercedes Benz... One day I'm going to look back and say "5 years ago they were affordable!"
Seriously got me thinking!

Thanks for the effort of replying.
After inpection on the MT's the sidewall was heavily worn. No idea how they got that worn but useless for me.
I have however found some matching front BFG ATs which may fit the bill!

I was trying to put this in a more PC/diplomatic way, but I cant, how far is the nearest traveler site? Without knowing where in Kent he is its hard to say, but if it is Chatham, like shared below the photo, then throw a stone in any direction and it will probably strike one on the head. Chatham is where all of the cortinas have been going from, not far from the dodge that was stolen, and that's just within the last few months. Regardless of who is speculated to be reliving their owners of their cars for whatever purposes, it is very obvious for all to see that in this area, even mine to some extent, that car theft is at what seems to be an all time high. I will spread the word with some of my green laning friends, in case they come across anything in the byways.

That's from my town, never seen it though and we have a lot of local meets.
Can't comment on price, wouldn't have a clue. I seem well out of touch with a lot of classics.

Thank you all guys for your replies and input, it is appreciated. Especially the photos!
The tyres that I have my eyes on are BFG Mud-terrains, they aren't massively expensive so if they're naff I'll bin them and try some A/T of some kind.
On my old ranger I had some Cooper A/T and they were excellent, but let me down a bit in the mud.
Will keep this updated with what ends up being fitted.
