To add to the growing list of bluebird owners on RR heres mine. Sold my mx5 and needed something with a long MOT, but wanted something 80s. The 80s search failed after my Laurel made it 6 miles until it died. After which it was towed back and I left with a full wallet but no car. I hadnt found anything else so bought a blue toyota MR2. That was fine but after going from a MK1 mx5 it felt very dull and boring. The next night a bluebird went up for sale close to me and yesterday, 2 days after I bought the MR2, I swapped it for this serious hunk of late 80's J scrap that I actually love. Suits me perfectly and I cant wait to have it looking fresh as a month old pear after torturing it with the Boso stick! Just look at that exhaust. Supposedly a custom powerflow job. Its dying for a slip on boso shotgun pipe. I also bundled these magnificent things into her tonight after seeing Overdrive. Just need to get tyres then I can get rid of the donk spec pimp wheels. Mmmmm 80s. Anyway, I think some spring cutting will be required here. I have a few jobs to do but nothing major. It has 97k and runs like the champion she is. I'm toying with the idea of paintjobs. I really like the look of the Zokusha police micra on here, which is tempting me to roller the bluebird something similar and go wild. I've also seen the taxi and camo ones on here which look quite interesting .

Just bought a 1992 MR2 SW20 (non power steering model) and drove it back from edinburgh. It had quite tremendous steering wheel wobble, which I knew before I bought it and still put it down to the front wheels being improperly balanced. After all it does have Wang Li Ching Ho tyres. BUT! My main problem is that when taking a slow turn to the right, and letting the steering wheel return to its natural position, it ends up slightly off kilter to the right and the car will pull in the direction. The same problem happens when I make a left turn, but the wheel will finish slightly off kilter to the left and pull in that direction. After a while of driving straight it and I let go of the wheel itll be back in the middle again and not pull either way. I'm stuck for ideas here now. Alignment is probably off but I reckon its worn bushes somewhere allowing play in the steering. Dad thinks its that the adjustment for the steering column is too tight so isnt "loose" enough to go all the way back straight. Maybe its something silly, but as long as its something I can do myself i'll be chuffed Might need a replacement column or rack?

So much win in this its unreal. I have 2 questions! How is that splitter mounted? I'm fairly sure the laurel valence is quite thin so don't want a splitter flapping all over the show And STICKERS! where? I've been trying to find some cool japanese stickers to coat my rear window with, and your windscreen banner, also where? I want to translate my own thing into japanese to stick on there.

I might have slotmags that fit this.... Overdrive... I have some money that might fit your wallet.... You lucky begger! That's some find finding one cheep, clean & manual! They were mostly all autos. Really good find... ...I hate you A lot of people hate me right now I'm actually using your 626 as some inspiration for what I want this to look like... Yours was part of the reason I ventured into the age of beige!

Only a couple of coils all round. It's still wafted along just fine. I sold it in 2010 and it disappeared off the face of the planet. The DVLA database says the MOT and tax expired at the end of when I had last put them on the car, its never been SORNed, just gone! Awesome. Better brush up on my spring cutting technique. As long as it'll pass the mot in feb i'll be happy!

I loves me a Laurel, always keeping an eye out for another, but they fetch good money these days. My last one was bought for £250 and needed nothing for an MOT. Some slotmags and spring choppage and it looked like this... That looks lovely! How much choppage did you do for that? and hows the handling? I'm thinking about doing that until I have the money for s13 bits.

Starting to get bored of the Mx5 because I've run out of affordable things to do to it, so I set about trying to swap it for something. Standard scan through fleabay came up with a nissan laurel c32. Lovely I thought, popped a bit on and waited. Ended up winning it for £700.01, but he said that I can keep the 1p to myself. I'll buy something nice with it. Anyway, here are the ad photos, when I get the car and start jappifiying it I will put up some more! Ah, the beige-ness. I've never owned a car this old. Its 28 with 61k miles and 2 previous owners. It will be cleanly and subtly modified like my MX5 is. Assuming it'll be a suitable daily-ish car!

Typical! I'd have needed to sell my Mx5 first anyway, which is why I'm trying to find a swap for it to make it easier and so that I'm not stuck without a car. I'm in a band too so taking 2 guitars on the motorbike isn't happening haha. I really fancy the idea of a t5 sleeper though and this would be perfect as I prefer the saloon especially in manual. If you ever get the fancy for some pop up headlights then ill easy swap you! insure the volvo for a day, I'll pay tax and then take the 5 home on the recovery truck. Double win To tell you the truth i've never been a fan, however your mx5 looks great, and i would actually consider it! However day insurance is like £50 for me! (being 21) its crazy since i can buy a year for £600 Also with just a remap you can go to ~300bhp on these, its already got an exhaust! Yeah the many horses and cheap insurance is what's tempting me to cross to the Swedish side. Well if you do fancy it give me a shout, I'd be happy to work out a deal for this

I am really craving this. Would be on it if I was closer! Glws Heh, I am in a similar situation, i've seen a recovery truck that I would really like (exactly what I'm looking for when i sell my car) but its all the way in peterhead! (almost 1000mile round trip) I would suggest that I could drive up, to have a look at the truck and you have a look at this volvo, however it wouldn't really work since i'd have to tax + insure the car again, and it would be a massive pain. As i've said before, of all the cars i have sold (selling all that I own currently) to be able to buy a recovery truck, personally this is my favorite, and it would be the one I would keep given the choice. I guess my price reflects my feelings and as such no one is interested at that price. Hi there, really interested in a swap. Would consider a Peugeot 205 gti track car with an mi16 engine conversion? What like is that on insurance? Also has this been at knockhill? I swear ive seen at least one 205 mi16 there on a trackday!

Great looking car and compliments on the work you've completed on it...probably a long shot but would you be interested in a 03 Renault Clio 172 Cup in good cond?? Cheers Nah sorry, not really where I want to go next! Thanks for the compliment though appreciate it dougie1142 Unfortunately i'm not interested in selling, just swapping! I'll be keeping it if the right offer for a swap doesnt come up. Cheers though!

Do you have any pictures of the seats? and yes, the top 3 are. I included the bottom because it shows how clean the car is. the only difference there is the lip and the stripes.

How bad is the bodywork? Anything major, rust issues etc or is just dings Mainly just superficial dings and scratches. There is some bubbling behind the mudguards on the rear wings but not a large amount nor is it major. All mx5s get that. Sills are solid however

Looks a fantastic car, amazing transformation from the start of your build thread. If I hadn't just bought another one last week I'd have been at your door! I hope this isn't to cheeky but if you fancy freeing up some cash by taking my OEM Mazda Daisy wheels with nearly new Toyo T1R tyres plus some cash your way I'd be very interested. Been after a set of RB's for a while. Also do you still have the gv lip? If not good luck with the sale buddy, cheers. Cheers mate been a lot of graft but worth it when I look at how it was when I got it! Unfortunately the rotas will be staying on the car because they go with the stripes and if nobody has anything decent to swap then ill be keeping the car anyway . Gv lip is gone too haha. Sold when I swapped to the oem. Cheers though!

Considering swapping my eunos for something else. Really fancy a volvo 850 t5 or a bmw e30/e28. Just got shunned by insurance for these! Maybe a lexus IS200. Something of that elk anyway! Would also entertain anything thats japanese and rwd. I'd actually also consider like a caddy pick up. Or a nissan mini truck sort of thing I'm not specific on what Id like to swap for, but if I get offered the right thing then i'll do so Anyway its a mk1 so has headlights and a roof that go up and down, the way an mx5 should be! 1.8 83,000 miles and is a Japanese import. The g-ltd means its one of 1500 and has suede half bucket seats. MOTd until nov with no advisories on its last and has tax until the end of august. Bits on it are: -torsen lsd -5zigen catback -Rota RB wheels -Black hardtop -oem front lip -kgworks rear spoiler -Headlight scoop Since i've had it I have: -changed oil for fully synth 5w30 -changed diff oil -changed gearbox and turret oil -new spark plugs with thicker leads -Fitted new gear shifter boots -fitted new CAS o-ring and cam cover gasket -fitted all new belts and it has had a new water pump within the last 10,000 -Undersealed the entire car spare for front arches which ive not had time to do yet. Not a big job -Fitted new suspension (adjustable coilovers. They are TA but when run at a sensible height like mine is at they are brilliant) -Replaced all 4 disks and pads and refurbished the callipers. They look new! -Fitted spoiler, lip and side stripes -Fitted rota rb wheels (15x8j. et30) with almost new tyres -gutted and cleaned interior -cleaned engine bay and decluttered -fitted a front strut brace I'm sure there is more and this is all documented in my build thread: retrorides.proboards.com/thread/164388/1995-eunos-roadster?page=1&scrollTo=1920782#.U7LqBY3FXY8i've been getting just over 400 miles to 45-50 quid on fuel so its actually surprisingly good. It is let down by the bodywork which has some scratches and dings but mechanically the car is spot on. Like i said, will swap for something... not sure what. 850 t5, lexus IS and old beemer are up at the top along with any rwd Japanese goodness. Seeing as insurance shunned the big saloons i've added Caddy pick ups aswell as any decent Japanese minitruck to the list Although i'm fairly open (and not picky whatsoever) so pop me an offer for whatever. I change my mind like I change my pants so I'm always on the lookout for something different haha. I can only refuse. If putting it for sale i'd be asking 1600-1700 which is in reality losing me a fair bit but thats the car game I suppose! I'm located in Aberdeen but would travel for the right car.
