I believe the rowdy Blue/green MX5 arrival may be a bit of a shared responsibility of Cerberus (On his stand) and Myself, (she was camping with us). As Cerberus has said... quiet words have already been had with her following her arrival... and no doubt more are going to be brought up at the next meet.

I thought she might have been with you guys. Haven't spoken to her yet so don't have all the facts. But if some of the reports coming back to me from other sources are true then yes she will be the proud winner of a b*llocking.

While we were packing up Kev and his helpers did at least TWO truckloads of debris. This really annoys me and as I get older and grumpier it annoys me more. I'd also like to point out that some plonker in a silver Mk1 Golf decided to spend some time spinning around with the handbrake on, well done, as did someone in a bubble Micra which I believe had been on its side at some stage. Nice work douchebags . On another note, you may have invested all your pocket money on a nice radio stereo cassette and all the trimmings but that doesn't mean the rest of us want to hear just the bass section of your curse word music. No need. That said, the noise levels were more sensible this year than last. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR ALL THE DEBRIS LEFT AROUND THE CAMPSITE OR THE SHOW FIELD. Aside from that, had an absolute blast again this year. Thanks to all involved in organising and running the best show of the year. Sent from grump towers using proboards

To follow on from Cerbs post I am also extremely disappointed in this. We had a large group of MX-5's and to my knowledge none of drifted or doughnutted on the roads around the site. As I organised part of that group I would really like to know who did this and which cars were seen behaving like dickheads. As Cerbs said, if it was any of my lot they will too get the full hairdryer treatment.

I should apologise myself for bellowing extremely coarse language at whomever was revving up their car before 8am on the Sunday. I had just stuck my head out the tent and didn't have my specs on yet so couldn't say who it was though.

We know the owner of that car.... and words are being had and we are finding out exactly what happened, we know that there was "Enthusiastic" 3 point turn in the lane when the turning was missed, and that was brought up on the day. I don't believe that there was latenight / early morning revving by that car though. either way, Cerbs and myself will make clear the feelings here are illustrated clearly.

This really annoys me and as I get older and grumpier it annoys me more. Not just me then? I'd also like to point out that some plonker in a silver Mk1 Golf decided to spend some time spinning around with the handbrake on, well done. He was doing that on the showground and damaging the top road as he was doing it! On another note, you may have invested all your pocket money on a nice radio stereo cassette and all the trimmings but that doesn't mean the rest of us want to hear just the bass section of your curse word music. No need. This was what almost ruined it for me on Saturday. It was totally unnecessary and well, just rude actually. Maybe we need to have a group of grumpy old gits walking around next year smacking children (I don't condone this for real children....) who can't behave like adults and briefing them on what should be expected of them when they're parents aren't there to educate them! It's sad, but it seems to be a fact of life that some pill will come along and ruin it for everyone else, regardless of what you're trying to do. I really don't want to have to do any of the above, cos that would suck for the people having to do it. Maybe we could have a representative form each group though, and stand passes in windows on the carpark so that you can identify the culprits and ban them next time? Still had an awesome time though, and massive thanks to the team as always for putting it all together.

^^ yea we had a bit of that in the camp site. To be honest we found it funny and did a couple of stupid dances to it. If we were that bothered by it we would have asked for it to be turned down but I can't imagine we were the only people that got sick of it after a while.

sounds like the mx5's are getting a great rep here. i apologise for any part i had in anyone requiring a moan in this thread. my car is fairly quiet but i did idle it for a short time to charge my phone before taking it to the stand, so sorry if that woke anyone up. direct any lotus gold leaf/boat coloured mx5 hate my way please
thanks to that Golf for screwing up the grass right where some of us needed to drive out of the campsite from - great move bro. made life fun pushing a mate's car most of the way up the field, but if you're not dirty at the end of a camping trip you didn't camp right
as for litter not being put away, my bag of catalogues i got handed at the gate had bin bags in it. the chaps and chapesses patrolling the site were also more than happy to pass out more if required. no excuses not to put things in a black sack. it was also not hard at all to reach the skips even from the end of the site the lot i was with were camping. if you can walk that far to have a wee, you can get rid of some black bags just as easily!
overall, however, i thought the camping was extremely civilised and the midnight noise curfew was adhered to on both nights (admittedly with some much quieter bits and pieces around the campsite after, all of which within reason)
huge thank you to those who cleared the campsite afterwards. i've done it at events before and it is never a pleasant experience. you people are saints.
PS
if anyone has specifics of mx5-based behaviour other than the minty green one which has been brought up, there are plenty of us fellow mx5ers who will happily pass on grievances

I'm not sure if this is a stupid thing to do, but I know it is the right thing to do... I would like to publically apologise for the disruption around my arrival to the campsite at 630pm Saturday evening. I am "the red haired girl with the mint mx5" who performed the spirited 3 point turn on the road outside the campsite. I did have a conversation with the marshals upon entry and apologised to them, would have apologised to the guy/ group of guys who came over shouting with rage too had I been given the opportunity. ( I think you were that p**sed at me you just walked off.) I realised instantly that it was a pointless, dickish thing to do in an area I should have had more respect for. Please understand that wasn't something I usually do. I am usually the other guy, shaking my head and judging the youth. I would respond to it the same way that some of you may have; Outraged at the lack of respect and shocked at the stupidity. I was pretty embarrassed the whole weekend after that. Trying not to make eye contact with anyone who may have seen me looking like a tw*t. I made a conscious effort not to leave any more of a footprint behind me. It was my first and last mistake of the weekend and I am sorry. I know how these kind of things ruin the fun for everyone and that's not what I want at all. RRG is one of my favourite events of the year and is always in the calendar. I hope you can all accept my apologies for my over enthusiastic driving, I was just a little excited. I know it was stupid, selfish and I'm sorry for raising people's blood pressure! Didn't mean to p*ss anyone off I shall be more reserved In coming years if I am still welcome to attend and would like to offer my services for any marshalling/ policing or cleaning of the site for future events. Not just as a general token of apology, but also because I understand what the venue and gathering means to many people and I would like to contribute towards keeping it civilised and fun and continuing for years to come. With sincere apologies, Clare.

The litter was inexcusable tbh. Being a typical brit, i stewed on that fact over the weekend. Kev and his crew deserve special word to say thank you for their efforts in helping clear the site in the aftermath.
As for the dicksish behaviour driving on wet grass, it was also on show in the retro parking area on the sunday. Sure some cars were going to struggle on the wet grass on a slope, but when you drive in on a flat bit and just boot it "for a laff" ,then imho, you should be asked to leave, no questions. Sure it may seem a bit draconian but I'm sure I'm not the only one that would like to go back to the site again for the foreseeable future.
As for the music , yeah, bass.... whilst its fun it can be annoying. Once again my british stiff upper lip held, i have had kids and can blank out annoying noises most of the time. I was lucky as i was sleeping in my car with plenty of sound proofing, however, nylon is not a great sound proofing material.
Other than the litter, small amount of dickish driving and the bass. What have the RRG15 gathering done for us? Its bought a good time to all, despite the moistness of the weather.

With sincere apologies, Clare. Welcome to the forum Clare.... I think it shows you realised your actions were silly by the fact you have had the courtesy to register here and make a very public apology. At the time I, along with many others, was of the opinion that you were an idiot. Your post above proves categorically that you are not, and I respect your honesty in holding your hands up and apologising. Well done, and I hope you are also welcomed and forgiven by the rest of the RR community as well as me.... As penance for your actions, get a thread up for your MX5 in the readers rides section! On the subject of litter, I too was disgusted by the complete lack of respect some people showed to both the site and organisers by leaving some truly disgusting rubbish on site. It doesn't take any effort to drop a rubbish bag in the skip PROVIDED by the organisers.... Big respect to Kev and others who cleaned up the site, and I hope those responsible either modify their behaviour for next year, or stay away.

some points to note- the security on the gate failed to give bin bags to anyone arriving before saturday morning, so most of our first nights rubbish ended up on a pile on the floor, as we simply had no-where else to put it. but, we bagged it up the next day once bags were acquired. i then heard one of them walking round the next day asking if people needed bin bags though, so they corrected their mistake, if a little late. would have been easier if everyone was given one as they came through the gate as there would be no excuse then. I arrived at 5pm Friday and we were all given 2 bin bags on entry.

Well, we were in an Mx5 and despite it having a curse word boot, original wheels, ride height and not being cool enough to be on any club stand,(coughs) we managed not to leave a thing on our plot, so it IS possible. It's about attitude, and as has been said earlier some folk need their mummies to clean up after them.
We arrived on Friday at 20.00 and were given a rubbish bag, so I don't see how earlier arrivals failed to get one.

Fair play! Respect Bit of a shame this thread is already a clear page longer than the "Thanks" thread Every year it seems people can't wait to whip themselves into a froth of righteous indignation. I don't wish to seem rude, but really guys? If you can't think ahead enough to take a bin liner with you when camping, maybe you oughtn't be out on your own anyway? And if people don't give enough of a four-X to throw their rubbish in a bin, do you really imagine they give one that there's a thread whining about them not doing it? Here, have a photo of one of the things that made me laugh at the Gathering. Rusty flange? Yeah, I got trench foot as well
