I was an avid reader of Street Machine in those days and had bedroom walls covered in their centre-spreads, so obviously as soon as I could drive I was going to have a car worthy of a feature in the magazine. I could probably quote some of those mags from memory at one time before I filled my brain with all sorts of other nonsense. Barry Cox's pro street Mustang, Robin Beardmore's Morris pickup (the second, pink version) Wilf Stacey's MK2 Zephyr, all spring to mind as favourite cars, though obviously Mine was going to be better than all of them. When I eventually learned to drive I wanted a Mazda mini truck before realising I had neither skills or money to make it a reality.

This precise car was my teenage dream. Handily I know the current owner, so now it is just a question of having enough money to convince them to part with it haha...

Too many to list! But primarily another mini dreamer here. Being the mid nineties, my dream as a 14 year old was an ERA kitted black mini with deep dish minilites and red interior, and nitrous, obviously. Prob something like this: As I got older I liked a more classic style and wanted an old english white one with a black roof and plenty of power. This is as close as 19 year old me got before rot took over: *edit* looking more closely I don't think that's an ERA kit above, but you get the idea

So I still wanted any Sierra RS500 as I had done since the age of 8....particularly this one though But, as the OP particularly mentioned ages 13-16, I realise this was probably the period when I went through 'the change'. Not hot flushes, but an interest that widened from then-current cars like M3s, Integrales and so on into classics. On my wall I had an Autosport poster of (I think) Simon Crompton's BMW 2002 race car (why can't I find any pics of it?) and seeing an '02 at Simpson Salvage really struck me what a great design they are. I've wanted one (and now an E21 too) ever since

As a teenager the poster on my wall competing for space with Debbie Harry was this: A late 70's 911 Turbo, 40 years later I still think it is one of the most beautiful things ever made and I still want one over and above just about ant other car.

Currently driving a 1972 BMW 1602 as my daily. Don't ask about previous cars - there have been way too many and I stopped counting at 160!

I always had a thing for the Fiesta XR2 but it would be quite a few years before I could realize that dream

There are faster cars, prettier cars, better cars. But they aren't a Rothmans liveried RS1800.

This...which I'm sure we raced against Hotwires Aston at Silverstone...the Aston had Gerry Marshall at the wheel. Apart from that, anything my uncle owned in the 80's although his T registered RS2000 replica in midnight blue and the mark 2 Granada Ghia X with Turbo Technics conversion were favourites, especially as he let me drive the Granada around the Derbyshire Lanes on my 16th birthday....

I loved Rover P6s, and thought the Series 2 3500S was the one to have, but I saw a 2000TC on wires in a magazine, and that was it! And I was at a show with my Mum when I was about 14, and saw one of these. 'WOW! That's awesome!' I said. 'That's a Capri' said my Mum. 'No, it's not. I'm not daft, I know what a Capri looks like!' 'Before those Capris, there were these Capris'. I also had a real fondness for one of these, I hoped I'd have one as my first car, but by the time I'd got my back side into gear and learnt to drive, I had family, so it wasn't really practical.

The movie that really got me into cars as a kid was Herbie Goes To Monte Carlo and it sparked my appriciation for Beetle obviously, but rival Claude Gilbert is driving a De Tomaso Pantera and that car stuck as well. Herbie: Claude Gilberts Pantera: At the time there was no internet so I only learned later that fellow rival Bruno Von Stickle was driving a Beetle-based kitcar look-a-like of a Porsche 917. Von Stickles Laser:

For some unknown reason i really hankered after one of these as a teenager: With a mild lift and some wellers or modulars on and the roll hoop. No rhyme or reason why, just thought they were pretty cool and different......

It was either a MG Metro Turbo challenge car or a Britax Cooper S. I made do with a couple of MG Metros and a mid 90's Mini Cooper (which I've still got)
